So I've started on 1/6 figures a little while ago, and my primary project is a Commodore Norrington custom as in Pirates of the Caribbean one. Since I unfortunately absolutely and totally fail at sewing, I did not get much further than the head -headsculpt is by Chan Ada, paintjob by me. The tricorn I made myself, I have yet to customise the trousers into 3/4 breeches. He is also still waiting on his proper uniform coat and waistcoat...

Both Navy fellows still need their wigs too; I'm currently fiddling around with wig caps, seeing if I can't make them wigs for "regular" hair and wig...

But since the painting was fun, I tried my hand at a few other characters, namely the unknown sidecharacter Lieutenant Groves...he looks a bit too serious for my taste, but I think the features are about right...based on a Henry Cavill headsculpt I resculpted a bit and painted

and of course I had to try my hand at Barbossa - headsculpt from the NECA statue with repaint.

Cool :)

Nice work. I like using the 12" Neca for customs.

Nice work so far!

Who is the Ada Chan sculpt actually supposed to be? I made a custom Norrington, but could always use a better head.

I actually bought that Barbossa bust to do the same thing, but then the better sculpt came along...

Thanks to everyone for the comments! Sorry for the late answer, I was out of town.

The headsculpt is supposed to be JackDav, I comissioned it, so it's not available on her site.

Do you have any pics of your Norrington figure? I'd love to see!

Edited to add: I've actually also found (before) that the Gary Oldman sculpt from headplay makes for a decent Norrington head with some modifications. What both need is for me to figure out a way to do a wig properly; but I didn't want the wig as standard hairdo....

And here's a few new progress pictures on Norrington... The mystery of sewing sleeves is still beyond me, but he now has a waistcoat.

Thanks for the info - Norrington's coming along nicely!

Where did the neckerchief come from? I'm working on a wedding outfit Will Turner custom and that part is a tuff-ie...

The neckerchief comes from the George Washington Fife and Drum, same as the sword. It doesn't look like it'd be too hard to reproduce, though - essentially, it's a collar with a metal snap to closed. Then fabric sewn and darted to it with a touch of lace. the downside is it really only works with the coat over it, as it is not designed to look right without the extra layer.

And here is Norrington with his coat, as done by GeeWhiz... I hope to make him a Lietuenant's coat and maybe a scruffy version myself once I figure out the sleeves.

Sorry, I was referring to the neckerchief in your first post that hangs down over his chest.

Ah, that one was attached to the outfit ... It was called "dandy Pirate outfit " sold on eBay UK by seller asheblack... I think they still sell it, it wasn't expensive either...
