Oh man...same thing happened to my Hot Toys Ed-209, his foot was cracked clean off, it looked like someone used the box it was delivered in as a stepping block.

Very sorry to see that man :monkey2 , can you get it replaced via mail insurance ?

Oh that sucks - big time!! I really feel for you. I know how excited I am when the package arrives - tearing it open like a kid on Christmas...and then to have it broken - I would be crushed!!!!

I hope you can get a replacement - it really is a nice piece.

its impossible to replace the balrog..hope hes fully insured though.:monkey2

Wow! Talk about an incredible seller. Sent the pics and he refunded all of my money. Even shipping!:D I feel bad for him though. One large chip from the piece is not in the box, and it sounds like he may not have inspected when he bought it on the secondary market. It may have been broken before he even shipped it.

BTW, for those that don't recognize it, it is the BABY Balrog. If it were the papa I would have needed sedation!

few...i thought it was the daddy..praise the lord:D

I don't know how much you paid on the secondary market...but SSC still has it available for $150.

I'm glad you got your money back!!

I'm curious about something. Since I don't do too many deals on ebay I was wondering if you received a broken item, does the seller or the buyer get to keep the broken item and who has to handle the insureance claim?

I think shippers have different rules because as a seller, I had to file the claim when I used UPS, but as a buyer I was the one to file the claim when it was shipped with USPS. I also had to turn in the broken item with the claim form for USPS.

So the shipping service ends up with the broken item?

On the UPS claim I filed, it was for a broken display case that I shipped. They paid the claim without needing the broken item back, so this also probably varies by shipper.
