It's a late one tonight - busy, busy, busy. But I'm checking out a new Sideshow figure that just hit the porch yesterday - Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Indiana Jones, complete with the fridge! And yea, as I bet you expected, the frig is cute but not worth the extra $90.

I also have a guest review up from Jeff Parker of Muriel, one of the ZC Girls. You can find all the reviews at the usual:

Thanks for reading!

Great read Michael, although you say that Indy's face doesn't photograph well I'd beg to differ. I think this pic of yours turned out great.

Agreed on the fridge.. mine came in this week and I feel completely robbed for paying an extra 90 bucks for that.. the interior is decently detailed.. but the outside of it looks like something from the dollar store.. ( and that is not just pessimistic sarcasm.. it seriously looks like a cheap toy).. oh well... cool figure though..

I got mine Monday and I really like mine. I'd agree with your current average on the site rated by viewers at 3.5 out of 4 with this guy. The fridge is pretty cool but may or may not be worth the extra but its cool to look at for whatever thats worth. :lol

Im glad i woke up and cancelled the exclusive once i realized i was to be paying an extra 85- for a toy fridge.
Frankly im surprised they sold almost any at all, just shows me how crazy some collectors can be, its a freeking 85- fridge!

Does seem that the fridge is a bit too small, but looking at the clip on you-tube its not too far off (Indy looks taller than it in the film).

Still, definitely not worth the scratch to me... but I will agree with Deak that first picture of yours looks awesome :rock

I gotta feeling my fridge may end up on ebay......

No!!! Say it ain't so Mike! I switched mine to Flex a few weeks back, so I'm stuck in for the long-haul on this one. Disappointed to hear it seems like a cheap toy, but hopefully now that I'm set up for it to be just 'OK', it'll still work for my display and I'll ignore that I'm paying $85 for it...:angelsmil

Well it doesn't feel like a cheap toy, its heavy, it just sort of looks like it when its closed up next to Indy. But I can't imagine too many people displaying the fridge just closed and sitting there.

Out of all the Sideshow figures I'll only be keeping this one and Henry.

Michael, the cylinder does lock in place. It feels like it won't, but it does snap in if you give it a gentle push. Great review as always! Although I disagree about the movie. Yes, it's nothing close to Raiders, but I would definitely put it in line with Last Crusade. I just watched it last week in anticipation of the figure and it's a fun ride.

I also agree the fridge was simply not worth the money. It does look pretty cool, and I would have totally gone for it if it was about half the price. I might have paid $85 for the idol environment, which only came out to be $60 and totally worth it.

Thanks Deckard, that makes me feel a little better about the fridge. I definitely plan on having the fridge lying flat and open like yours and will either have Indy rolling on out, or propped up behind doing that 'patented' Ford lean with one foot up on the fridge holding the coiled whip (similar to the KOTCS PF pose)

I fell asleep trying to watch the movie last night. Granted it was late but if it were any of the other films I would have stuck it out.

Still some fun scenes, but I fell asleep as soon as Karen Allen got tossed into the mix, her acting is nothing short of atrocious. I think its the end of the film I really dislike the more I watch it, the Space between spaces and Grandpas laughing lines make me physicaly ill. And I would have preferred the aliens stayed dead even if they showed the UFO. And the wedding, ew. Its like they were neatly packing away his balls to be stored in a government warehouse with Top Men.

Another excellent review from you, Michael, as always. I read all your reviews on Hot Toys and Sideshow releases before buying any of theirs 12" figures and PFFs. In this case, I've made a choice for buying the PFF instead of the 1/6 scale figure. The reason for this is that I had no Indiana Jones PFF on my collection, so this one sounded a must have for me. Should be receiving it by next week.

Though the fridge is nice, I personally think it's over kill. It's heavy and could've looked just as nice, and be cheaper as well, if it were plastic. To go with this figure, it really didn't need to be polystone.
