well i have it set up with the exclusive and exclusive only. Any nazi is offensive, whether its small around his arm or as big as a house, its still a nazi symbol, thats why on this thread I said that if anyone is offended i will gladly remove it. I always make sure I have a pleasant atmosphere when people come by

Sure, any Nazi symbol is offensive. But one tiny symbol on an armband could be easily missed, and when noticed, written off as "attention to detail" because it's part of the uniform... or potentially just as offensive.

When you start throwing in large banners and flags, those do more to glorify the symbol rather than just adding accurate detail... see what I mean?

Again, you're free to do what you want, free country, and I'm not offended, but others may be, that's my only point.

This discussion taking place is EXACTLY why SS left it off. What company wants to have press associated with making products with swatstikas on them?

I'm not sure if it was Sideshow's decision or Marvel's but a Nazi symbol would have been better than an Ironcross. I think Marvel still draws a Nazi symbol on Red Skull's uniform to this day.

C'mon people, get over the Nazi stuff already. What are you? Sheltered? It is what it is. Do we need to have conversations over this everytime a figure has a Nazi symbol or background tied with it? Seriously, if I want to own 20 Nazi figures in my collection (which I don't and won't), it doesn't change who I am. I am not a fascist. I love and hate everyone equally. :)

So how about those Olympics?

Im Jewish. Lost family during the Holocaust. I contemplated buying the PF altogether literally out of the connotations this statue gives off, with or without the Swastika. It boils down to a personal choice at the end of the day ....
For some, any reminder of those times or anything to do with those times is horrific. I cant even bring up Nazi Germany to my family and relatives because so many lost so much....all I can say is, its your place, and do what you want with it, but DONT feel ashamed to NOT purchase this either ... totally your call ...

If it bothers your family just hide it on them when they come over. Save you from them getting upset. Not that you haven't thought of that already. That's a tough spot to be in. Sounds like you want to get it regardless, so do what makes you happy bro!

Marvel still shows the Red Skull with the swastika in the books--big deal, right?

Wrong. It isn't one. It's a symbol essential to the character. A symbol stands for something; good or bad, symbols cover all sides of the spectrum. SS choose to switch this symbol for a less offensive one. Good PR move I guess, but I just don't understand why I can see it in the books but not on a statue. The Cross was a symbol as well, the Nazis wore it as well--if the logic with why the swastika is not seen on this PF is consistent, why any symbols at all?

Though I'm bothered by this PC move, I still ordered.

My .02 on this 6 months ago.
