Got my Mary Jane AH! in the mail today...got her on ebay and was thrilled about it. But I gotta be honest, Im a little underwhelmed with the piece. Not to say I dont like it...but after getting my Mystique AH! which I was very impressed by, I feel the Mary Jane doesnt match up. Anyone else in the same boat?

Yeah im in the same boat.... The hype was when this came out around around the same time as the spidey movie. This statue is a best of the worse. Id say a close 2nd worse when compared to black cat..

But i think the sculpts on both pieces are awesome the problem is the PAINT APP SUCKS CRAP!...

Yea the paint work is O-Kayyyy...just not as thrilled about it as I thought I would be, seems like the paint went on to thin or to watered down, I might do some varnish on the spiderman costume to seal the paint better and at the same time make it look more "wet"

I think it's butt ugly...sorry. She's way too thin and out of proportion. Cute idea, just too freakish. Heroin chic on the catwalk...

The M.J statue by Clayton Moore is still the best.

Yes, the MJ "face it Tiger, you just hit the jackpot" bust from Moore Creations is the best likeness BY FAR. The SS AH statue is a great pose, just doesn't look ANYTHING at all like the artist's illustration.
I'll probably get her a facelift soon...

You mean Clayburn. :slap

I sold my MJ awhile ago since I was unhappy with it. I have seen customs of it that are really amazing.

IMO AH MJ is my fave of the line. The paint apps on mine are perfect.

I'd like to have my AH! MJ customized. Anyone know a really good, honest & dependable customizer who could make MJ look more like the print? :D

I do, dont really know the guy, but I talked with him for awhile, it would cost you like $500 + shipping and stuff though. I would like to get the same thing done, but i need a comi and I'm not sure if I want to wait for a pf to be released or not though :dunno

Given the prices I have seen on e-bay for this piece you would have thought it was a grail or something....interesting to hear some of the perspectives in this thread.

I could definitely see what everyone is saying. I think there's ALOT of room for improvement. It does bother me that I paid over retail to get it, but this and the AH Emma were the only pieces I was missing to complete the collection. Having said that, I still think it's a decent piece.

I don't like this one at all. Liked the pose, but hated the thin proportions. Face is ok. I still don't get why this one is going for a lot. The Moore's Mary Jane bust is the best Mary Jane collectible out there. Pity it's only a bust. Hopefully they'll do a "Face it Tiger, you just hit the jackpot" Mary Jane PF, but this time with suitable sculptor.

Thanks Azurepred!

$500.00, eh? Kinda pricey for me right now with so much cool SSC goodness coming out.

After I get some of my PO's out of the way...I'll hit ya up for some more info. :D
