Thanks guys! :D

If everything goes according to my wishes, I'll try to make a painting tutorial to go with it. Actually, I think that this is something missing on that board: Tutorials!

We probably all have our methods and tips! I'll show you how I do it and I'd be very happy to see the tutorial thread I'll start updated with people willing to share their knowledge. I'll try to dtail every step of the way with pictures! There's so much we can learn from each other that I think a tutorial section should be created or stickied somewhere...

great dexter 16k............& very cool to offer up a tutorial as well. one can never have too much knowledge in this hobby.

Great work there, you nailed the look, I knew as soon as I opened the thread it was Dexter & I've only seen the show once or twice

Very quick update: mold is dry and seems to be flawless (no bubble at least). Tomorrow; I'll cast a sample head. If that works fine, I'll make a list for interested people! I'm going back to work now! :D

Great news!

I'm sure most of the people who signed up for a Howe's Dexter sculpt will be on board.

That is a sweet Dexter! I was thinking how cool a Dexter figure would be but then saw how uncool Ada's sculpt was. But yours man, that is pretty damn sweet. Great job.

So, some good an bad news...

First sample head is a failure... :(

I did everything by the book but I think the resin was too old or faulty. It's full of tiny bubbles and remains squishy, even after 24 hours... :(

So... the good news! :D
I've ordered a professional resin this morning. I should have it this week and I hope I can present you with a sample head by the WE. Also, the first cast confirmed that the mold is good. In spite of the bubbles, all the tiny details and creases were there. So there's hope! :D

Okay guys,

So now I know I can do it! Before all, I have a few questions to ask:

-First, do you think I should start a thread in the commission section under the name "Dexter heads for sale" or do you think I keep it in that thread?

-Second, here's the price I'd like to do: $30 shipped for the US and € 25 shipped for Europe. Shipping from France to the USA is about $10, so it means that one the paypal fee's been deducted, I get around $15 per head. I think the price is about right, but let me know if you think I'm wrong.

-Then, who wants one? :D I won't take any payment until your head is ready and will notify each one when the head is ready to ship to ask for payment, thus, no Chris Howes effect. The head is ready, you pay, it ships, period.

As I said, I also want to present you with a painting tutorial, so it will be my first priority. I'll paint a head, tell you how to do it, and then will start casting the heads, so expect the first casts to be ready in about three weeks (I'll have a vacation there).

That's it! Please let me know your suggestions,
JP
