The bases do seem to be exactly the same, and packed the same, but I have heard no complaints about scratches or stains. I know that mine was fine. Also, my button doesn't stick out as far as Vader's either. Weird.

Well here ya go. Finally got him unpacked and the base is all kind of messed up. Scratches, buff marks. Most are covered by the figure but some are not and they are noticeable. I could probably live with them but there seems to be some paint on his forehead, same color as the hair. I think I'm gonna have to send him back.

Mine came in perfect condition. The likeness on this piece is incredible. I know that has been said repeatedly, but it's so true.

I was holding off on making my case for Obi until Leia came, but I finally decided not to wait any longer (which turned out to be a good thing since she just got delayed again) and finally got my glass case made. I'm really happy with how it turned out and plan to make my own cases for Spidey vs. Hulk, Buffy PF, & Leia PF at the same time; and will figure out when to make one for the Yoda/Luke PF. Anyways, here are some pics.

The overall dimensions are 15x18x24, and the glass is 14x17x23.5 (though it could stand to be about half an inch deeper). I didn't get it from anywhere, I made it myself. The base is a plastic laminate (like most kitchen countertops) with a wood trim stained black; and I used clear silicone to glue it together and seal it to make it air tight.

When I got the glass, I asked how much it would cost to get 5 pieces of glass cut to these sizes and he told me $80. I didn't think about it, and he didn't mention that didn't include the labor which was an additional $50. We had some of the laminate at our shop, so that was free and I only had to pay for the trim and stain. Overall it cost me ~$160-$170. The 18x18x24 case from Cases for Collectibles would've cost me $180 shipped. So in the future, I plan to order the glass for multiple cases at the same time to save money.

I've my PF Vader & Obi displayed on my tv console w/o any cases at the moment. My only long-time concern is dust. I do find it tedious to dust every other day. Hence, having a case would protect my precious figures from dust.

Agent, damage from dust is immediate; but, thankfully, it takes years to notice the effects. It is definitely wise to invest in a case at some point if you want you statue to last a lifetime.

Nice work GSR! I think my case from CFC ran about $202 shipped. Worth it for me though. My time is more important than money. Very nice work though. If you go into large production of these, I'll definitely pick a couple up from ya.

Thanks for the info guys. Maybe I will start saving up for some kind of curio cabinet or something for my P.F. pieces. Probably should do the same for my Weta pieces too huh?

No doubt! I was quoted $259.78 with shipping for a case big enough to house GG. OUCH!

Guys my PF saber connector snapped from the saber when I moved this PF's saber to far to the left I put the connector back in but to no avail. So I called Sideshow and they said they would get back to me within 3-4 days to see if they have replacements. Do you think they would have replacements after that many years? Idk but the lady on the phone didnt sound like it was impossible.
