Nope, no gloss. In fact, I was surprised when I saw them, because of all the talk of a matte finish. Mine is more semi-gloss than matte - still not matte enough, but more than I expected.

I did the glue trick and the tightening-the-screw trick... and my ankles are still relatively loose. :lol My left thigh/hip is by far the loosest. Every time I lift the figure, that leg drops down like its weighted. Everything else on mine was tight and firm, including the right shoulder which was Michael's bete noire. But I'd agree that the ankles are frustrating and need to be addressed before the next trooper gets here.

Really? I had no trouble at all. Yes, you have to orient them - it's called turning the ball. Pretty standard on ball joints like the shoulders or hips of ML's.

When I think of a ball joint, I think of a ball fitting into a socket. In this case, it is two pegs attached together at hinge. Honestly, I don't see how Sideshow will be able to tighten the joint in its current form. I performed the superglue trick (with liberal amounts) and they are still loose. If Sideshow could just use a double ball joint, like Hot Toys, does it could save us all a lot of headaches. Other joints on the body, I was able to tighten with screws. The screws simply weren't put in all the way at the factory. The joints I couldn't tighten were the elbow and knee joints because they are glued together.

Have you guys tried using a Hot Toys stand for the troopers? I have found that they work better than the Sideshow stand because of the belt and cylinder. Maybe Sideshow should use this type of wire stand for the troopers. I know the under hooks might look strange on figures with pants, but they look great with these armored figs, including Clone Obi.

Yes, on the back side of each "ball" hip, there is a screw you can tighten. Very handy. :)

Justin I've read several others that got the stormie have all been able to stand theirs up without a stand.

Yet more great images. Can't wait for mine to arrive, am thankful I ordered 2 pieces.

Is that the Kenmore kitchen? I had to miss those when they were released, but heard a lot of praise for them. And Kitchen Littles...great stuff. :)

OK, done mini-geeking now. :)

Thanks for the review. I'm still on the fence about laying down that amount, and it helps to see the pros and cons clearly addressed.

Michael - Great review and photos.. Im a new collector of 1/6 figures and always check your site and this forum for reviews of previous released figures before I purchase them.
