Interesting. They will do that for you even if they didn't package it. Please forgive my lack of knowledge on this subject. Thankfully I have not had to deal with these type of situations as the shipper.

What happens next after the package arrives back to you? Do you ever print your shipping labels online?
I have only had to do it once. I went to the store, told them what happened. They initiated the process and told me to tell the person the item was shipped to that ups would be calling them to schedule a pickup and they sent the package back to the ups store I sent it from. At some point I assume a UPS claims person assessed the damages and processed the claim.

I'm having problems with UPS too, but nothing that bad. I called to have them hold my Maul and Cap PF at the distribution center for me to pick up. I go down there - nothing. They have in the computer that I refused the items and they returned them to SSC. I have never once had the UPS customer service do something correctly the first time. I'm always having to make multiple trips to the distribution center.

If you let the UPS store pack it for you then they are the ones responsible for the damage. Keep on them and they will pay. They will deny you as long as they can though. :(

agreed. seems like the UPS store should pay since they packed it and "didn't use any bubble wrap".

Urgent!

My status usually says on time for schedule... something like that...

Now it reads this...

Tracking Detail:
Your package has experienced an exception.
They do mean exception?

Status: Exception
See description below

So does this mean it's coming earlier? Cause it shows my city now as its location... this is new: UPS INTERNAL ACTIVITY CODE

Sorry don't know much about this tracking stuff.

That or feed it to a shark?

Or drop an anvil?

No, seriously I know it's really silly to ask such questions. Just me being little pessimistic and worried.

But man I have had two ****ty weeks... worse than any two weeks I have experienced in recent memory.

Lets see, I was part of a friend's funeral who passed away much younger than he should have.

I had either a) throat infection, strep throat, or mono. They needed to take blood tests to make certain which of the three I had. But yes, never did get back those tests. Hmmm....

Found out from the vets my poor cat may have 3 and a half months left...

So yeah I am kind of paranoid right now when it comes to things that seem out of place or aren't going well. It's just my luck to think that way. Usually have good luck, but these past two weeks have been bleah.lol

Fortunately I am getting better, and I am hoping that my cat has years left. I like when we prove people in the medical world wrong by surviving beyond the time they give us.

Did they send those tests via UPS? :monkey3 :lol

If it says "exception" then they think they tried to deliver it, or it got misrouted or the manager liked it and is keeping it.

But seriously - you need to call them. If it says exception then something has happened and you need to tell them what to do.

I have had items show as an exception and they were just delayed. My Alien Warrior bust I just got recently had an exception. I think the site eventually said that a train caused a delay.

Between UPS and Paypal we're all getting screwed left and right lately.

You ain't never lied.
I'm really starting to think twice about ebay in general, just because it's changed so much in the past few years and it seems to be more hassle than it's worth. The past 2 years alone, I've had transactions go horribly wrong and all that "protection" and "insurance" is, in a word...useless! I can't decide what's worse - Paypal's boogerhooks in my account essentially STEALING my money, dealing with an apathetic shipping company that will categorically deny they ever had the package, or filing a claim or dispute that makes me feel as though I'd have more luck in the appellate courts!

Sometimes when it says Exception they will try to redeliver I've noticed. but I've made a habit of calling them whenever I see it.

The first time I ever noticed that word on a UPS shipment was something they ended up losing completely with no trace. (SSC replaced it of course).
