I like the fancier base rather than the simple black bases, but not a big fan of the name plate... it's a little distracting. He's supposed to be menacing and looks it, but with a name plate, it looks like a convention.

I dont mind nameplates....if someone who is not a massive LOTR fan is viewing your collection they may not know who some of the characters are....so they could ask: "Who's Lurtz?" And then you could tell them, and maybe get them into the story as well while at the same time displaying your own all-knowing geekiness :D

I dont like nameplates at all. And although this nameplate on the Lurtz piece looks pretty good, I'd rather have seen it without it. I know its Lurtz. I dont need a nameplate to remind me its him.

The figure is 20" tall and the base is only 2 1/2" tall. I really don't think it stands out at all.

As long as it's not a big shiney plate stuck on the base and blended in like it is on Lurtz, I have no problem with it at all. Even with the nameplate, people will look at it and say, "What the heck is that thing!" :google

Athough I don't like the nameplate, to be fair, it's not a bad nameplate... it blends in and isn't some shiny thing with big red letters. So, as far as nameplates go, it isn't bad. Just prefer not to have it.

It doesn't bother me at all.

I can't get over how sweet this figure looks...

I voted "don't care", although I can't really make up my mind. Personally think this one looks really good as it's very subtle and matches the base very well.
Although I agree with elwoods comment about nameplates being appropriate for a small line like Predator, and possibly being a bit redundant on a huge line like LOTR...

I'm too busy looking at how cool the figure is to pay much attention to the nameplate. When I first read it had one I was a little unsure but it blends in so well with the figure it does nothing to hurt it IMO.

I just can not justify the cost of this thing, too dam much$$$$$$$$$$$$ for the size of it:sick Besides I have enough WETA stuff to keep me happy, as I would rather spend my money on other things!! And as Frodoeyes would say.......WETA IS BETTA!!!!:banana

Hmm, the timing of me putting that as my.....whatsit called.....bit of writing next to my screen name......was unfortunate....I put it there before anyone even knew Sideshow were doing PF's. But hey, I ain't gonna change it :D

I voted "I hate the nameplate" but that's rather strong. I don't like nameplates on figures. Some look ok and others don't. I would rather it's not there. The Lurtz nameplate doesn't look awful like the Danbury Barad-dur one so I can live with it.

I like the nameplate myself. Actually the whole base is very nice. I like how it says the name of the film and which one it is too.

I just hope they are consistent and they all have bases with nameplates...
