Curious if you could just cut the jakks mouth plate out and swap it.

The Neca mouth/chin is a lot longer, Psycho. Plus the shape of the cowl is also off in my opinion but others could see it differently.

WHOA SOLID WORK, Kroanx! Now this makes me want to get the figure! I think the Jakks head is still in proportion with the NECA body.

WOW. Very neatly done as well. Can't imagine how you've done that cut so clean with an exacto blade. I had a hard time just doing the scratches on the armored Batman!

Great work Kroanx. That's seriously amazing, I can't believe you did that with just an exacto blade. I really want to try that but I do my have the time (nor the NECA Affleck :lol). Seeing the body side by side, the lopsided, asymmetrical Bat on the NECA figure bothers the hell out of me too, just like that face. Jakks' is how it should be.

And yeah Jye, that's the best description of the NECA face yet. Looks just like Thulsa changing into a snake. Dunno why I didn't think of that before.

Thank you DiFabio! Just need to be careful and take it slow. What would be a great project if you are really thinking of doing something is getting the 31" jakks and making that in to a bust.

Thanks HeubertMichael! It ain't complete yet but it's getting there. Just scoring it slowly would do the trick. Actually the NECA body is still a little off in person when you have the JAKKS head on it. I think the arms are too long and the waist a bit wide.

Just got the this and it's great except for one thing... the head is not good. So I removed it and replaced it with the Jakk's batman head.

It's definitely smaller but I am not too bothered by it. I just had to replace the head, it's just not good.

Still working on attaching it properly, painting the head and replacing the cape with pleather.

Oh my. Amazing work, a good headsculpt make a huge difference. What a bummer NECA drop balls on Batleck

had another go round with this bats ,removed the head and padded the back of the face and the sides ,to hopefully widen the face part and make it look less long and "chin proud",i think it worked to some sort of degree lol

on a slightly related note
i think the suit they came up with for this movie was the one hollywood were looking for all along ,i could see this with trunks and less pronounced texture working along side reeves superman back in the late 1970s early 1980s when the first attempted modern movie batman was touted
here's what the writer had to say about the batmans appearance back then ,seems zack wasn't the only one to see bats this way ,and this was the guy that "fixed" dickie donner's superman the movie lol

"I want The Batman's outfit to be truly frightening," Mankiewicz told Goldberg. "I hope we can do something with his eyes so he has a penetrating and mesmerizing gaze that will give him a Svengali look. Really, when you look at The Batman character, he's only one step removed from Charles Bronson in DEATH WISH." In 1983 this sounded rather extreme as the true darkening of the Batman character wasn't as far along then and didn't truly occur to the degree we recognize today until Frank Miller's THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS was published in 1986.

Jesus H Carpenter dude, I think yours looks better than the Jakks solution, for real! :clap

You did it, you made horse face look exactly like Affleck! :bow

Regarding Mankiewicz wanting a mesmerizing gaze, we got that in 89 and Returns way before BvS!

If anything that's what Keaton's Batman is famous for, that and his stiff neck causing him to turn his entire body.

Any tips on how to widen the face and what not, that you did. May try that when i get my affleck back later this month.

thanks guys i appreciate the feedback ,its hard sometime knowing if your making something worse rather than better when there's noone there to bounce it off ,so again thanks

,yeah dead right about the keaton stare ,made the whole thing work for me back then :duff

as to what i did ,well first i did the cut and glue face shortening mod and after looking at it and squeezeing the face to squash it down and widen it out i used 3 of those make up thingies my daughter uses ,first removed the head and while it was still pliable from the heat used to remove it i pushed one pad up into the face area up to just below the nose and one each side ,to widen the lower part of the head behind the face part, the gap inside the head must vary as the left hand side bulged out too much with a full pad ,so i sort of pulled a bit out until i thought it looked about even ,then popped the head back on
27984354011_27f579fb43_c.jpg

i still love the jakks mod and think its the best solution to the head problem and hats off to the guy that took the plunge and did it so expertly ,but for me i see too many stylistic clashes in the texture and body proportions to make it worth the hard work

Yeah, if you're able to get great results with the NECA head using this mod then go for it because at least the textures remain consistent.

I really think yours looks the best, NOT that the JAKKS mod looks bad because it doesn't, but yours looks like Affleck now and the head doesn't look smaller (just reshaped better) and you keep the original textures.

WIN!

My preferred mod.

psycho sure my phone camera and light isn't the best but here you go ,hope they help ,i dont think it fixes all the problems with the head sculpt but i at least hope the pictures show the change in the size and shape of the mask opening and the decrease in the chins prominence ,however slightly from the stock face lol

Nice custom man. Wish I had the spare cash and time. Too much on preorder. Too many hobbies.

I almost did it the way you and Mr. Mei did, and I would have loved to keep the Neca's head... the detail paint is really good I think. It's more of form I had a problem with.

I would have guessed someone posted it already... I have not looked at past posts here. :)

Superman, follow my finger and then read the lowest line you can.
