Sorry to be a downer but did they really have the big under chin spots in the film..they look too distracting in these newer shots :gah:

I do not think they are that bad really. And isn't Donnie the only one that has these birth marks anyway out of all the turtles ? Either way maybe it can be seen as either a small mistake or just a unique marking. Still looking forward to getting mine though.

Maybe some will have no chin birth marks ?

Im gonna paint over them if need be. Acrylic is easy to wipe away before its dry if the shade isnt perfect at first

The spots are likely sprayed by hand, with some randomness in placement and intensity. Sucks, because it's detracting, in an otherwise homerun of a product.

I noticed that the other Donatellos have a better application. Looks like that particular one was rushed by a factory worker wrapping up their shift.

What about finding a matching shade of semi-translucent paint, and applying lightly over the area with a cosmetic sponge? I'd be paranoid about not sealing any work with Testor's Dullcote, but I'm not sure I'd want to open up that can of worms either. All I can do is:

The couple Donnie's at my LCS did not have the spot issues under his chin, there were was one that had a couple light spots but could only be seen with white light shining on it,other wise it was just faded with the skin and paint apps. This is why I don't mind paying a little more and buying Neca 1/4 from a retail store so I can check them all out to find the best one

Idk if is just me but in this pic from the movie, it looks like Donnie does have the marks under his chin.

Took a few more pics of Donnie in a new pose just love this guy.... Can't wait for the rest and the eventual 7 inch release and the SH Figuarts 1990 versions as well.

Got mine earlier this week and had to weigh in on the spots - i'm sure there's a fair amount of variance in the pain applications, but the pictures all seem to make it worse than it is in person. On mine, yes, they are 100% there, but it's not nearly as noticeable as it looks in most of the photos. I'm pretty liberal in my practice of repainting and modding figures to get them exactly how i want them, but in my personal opinion, this doesn't warrant any repainting once you see it in person. Just my two cents.

Given the figures restrictions unless someone makes leather elbow pads. I doubt we'll be able to get Mikey in this pose but hope I'm wrong.

Just got this from EE. A quick pic to show the spots on the chin. They are there, but in no way, at least on mine, detract from a beautiful figure.
If you are on the fence about these I would suggest you get off the fence and come join us 'cause rock n roll ain't no riddle man. To me it makes good, good sense, good sense. Let's go!
These things are epic.
