So are some of your guys still buying more than one of each turtle for when their price skyrockets on the secondary market?
I've never done this before but am thinking about ordering a second of each as a way of reducing the huge cost incurred when buying them in from the UK.

I'm using leftover eftpos/visa giftcards to buy popcultcha giftcards, then using said Popcultcha giftcard to buy items. 222 extra Popcultcha points per giftcard.
Nothing major, but those extra points add up to extra savings down the road.

Ah, not as devious as I was expecting :lol sounds like a good use of those points.

No I think it's bad service when they take the full amount at pre order, I can understand a percentage deposit payment like sideshow, I have no problem with that.
I actually requested they charge me the deposit charge and return the rest of the money to me. But they point blank refused to do that.
It was a case of we have your money and that's it.
That's bad service, who else does that?

If you preorder two mistakenly they should give the customer the benefit of the doubt and refund you, whatever their rules say. That's just good customer service to me and likely to make them far more money long term through repeat sales and good word of mouth.

It's probably cheaper ordering via BBTS for the rest of them anyway.

POd Ralph from BBTS, until there is a 1/6th option I'll hold on to these, for 100$ you can't really go wrong....don't even have the space to display so I'll take him out, snap some pics, back in box and into closet

Despite what others have said I don't believe these will top two hundred each when the secondary market settles down. I just watched a Donny go for 160 the other day. Consistently bringing in four or five, nah.

I saw Donnie sell for 350 plus 40 shipping last month.

I could see in 5 years or more, fetching a higher price consistently for each. I don't care either way because I'm not going to resell but it's always nice when the values increase

Its hard to predict what these may be worth in the future. Just last year i got a HT Nick Fury boxed £200 which was the going rate at the time, but only last month needed to sell it, bidding went for little over £100, crazy, there isnt always any logic to it.

If neca is the only ones that make these you can bet the price will be like 300 to 400 in due time but if figuarts ,sideshow or threezero are smart enough to jump on the 1990 train then they won't be as valuable but still valuable. Probably like 100 to 200.
Reason why nick fury lowered is cause they are like 2 or 3 nick furys out. These turtles might be the most sought after in any tmnt figure line to date so far. I'm sure other company's will be smart and join the hype but I ain't taking my chances. I waited faaaaaaaar to long to pass on these.

Thats a good point. Your right if other companies pop out 1990 turtles, prices will level out

Yeah, I've been wondering if any other company was going to jump into the 1990 TMNT license but I wonder if they'll bite considering it seems like the license restricts NECA to only release these in the US? I wonder how that would play into companies like Figuarts or Sideshow.

Looking at ebay the highest they've sold for so far in the UK is £150. Hopefully that goes above £200 before long. Maybe as more of the team are released the prices climb.

They do seem extremely rare and difficult to get hold of this side of the pond. I just want to be able to make enough back so I could get all 4 of them for around £400 instead of the £750 it will cost otherwise.

True. But the HT aftermarket has crashed. Increases costs at outset and overproduction. Interesting to see if NECA turtles do the same. The 6" turtles sell really well in aftermarket.

I have many MOC figures that value has sky rocketed on the secondary market

e.g.:
NECA clamshell Trick r Treat (purchased for $14)
NECA dark crystal (purchased for $14)
NECA Halloween Boxset (purchased for $30)

There is a sense of pride owning them knowing their value has increased. But as a collector I would never sell them because then I would not have them anymore. And that’s a bigger “hit” to me then the money!

But if your buying them with the intent to unload them for a profit, well then thats another thing.

Why do you hope the price goes above £200? It's BS like that from the hoarders and ebay money makers that make it hard and expensive for fans to buy these things during the original release.

In my case just to cover the shipping and import costs, so its not exactly a profit. I dunno, still not sure what to do or just accept defeat :lol

Was just an idea. A few on this thread said they'd bought an extra Donatello or two in anticipation of them one day be worth big bucks.

I didn't know some where doing that. Well I hope that when a company comes along with their own 1/6 90's turtles the hoarders get a shock when the NECA value drops. ;)

Be good if HT does 1/6 scale versions of these but the price and length of time between each figure releasing would sure suck. :lol
Blitzway probably best, at least we'd get them all at the same time if they followed their Ghostbusters model.
