Yeah, what is it with smaller, cheaper scales getting better head sculpts than the high end stuff? You would think the big high end companies would totally and 100% nail the face and heads of the characters with all their tech and master sculptors, but there's always something off, yet some good smaller scale figures, i.e: Neca DC stuff (or most of their licenses), Figuarts SW etc etc, outshine them in that regard.
Man, I can't wait for mine to ship! (I've pretty much given up any hope on finding these at TRU.)
I'm more of a DC guy anyways, but imagine if NECA struck a similar deal with Disney/Marvel and released 7" versions of their 1/4th figures with DVDs. Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the upcoming Hulk in 7" would make Marvel Legends look like nothing in comparison.
That was quick, I hope they get more.
Cheers.

Not yet I guess, checked today and no superman other than the heroclix. So, Reeve hasn't officially come out, right?
First off, I like the bat I don't think it's ugly it's a engineering work of art. Of course it's your opinion so it's cool. Are DC vehicles within the realms of possible releases for NECA?
Man, imagine a Tumbler, 89 Batmobile, Batpod...
Hell, I'll even buy the ugly Bat!

I used to have war with some people here when I made statements like this. NECA don't always get it right - their Kyle Reese is a bit iffy as are their Ripley sculpts - but otherwise I agree with you. They are capable of superior likenesses than high-end companies.
Not really, even Hasbro from time to time has better sculpts, when you take the ****** factory paint job and see them in glorious custom paint, you realize the sculpts are in fact more accurate than the Hot Toys or Sideshows.I think the smaller scale and looser paint apps give more room for your brain to fill in the gaps. With stuff like Hot Toys, Enterbay, etc the casting quality, fine details and paint are so inhumanly perfect at this point - coupled with the larger scale - it makes even the smallest issues with a likeness stand out like a sore thumb.

Casting and small details aside, I talking pure likeness.
And it's not like Neca or SHF sculpts are small to begin with, they're regular sized sculpts and then they shrink them.
The most recent example was SS Darth Maul, it's packed with a retarded amount of detail and an immaculate paint job, yet, it doesn't quite look like Ray Park, but when you see the SHF one, that is Ray Park dead on.
Those SHF Star Wars figures are amazing.
We haven't gotten a clear shot of Han Solo yet, but it would surprise me if it has the best likeness to Harrison Ford on a mass produced figure to date.
They're pretty much nailing all of their lines, it's pretty remarkable, and the quality is there, I think I've only see one broken Luke in these boards.
