Maulfan whats your opinion about the seam on Wolf's lower mandibles? Is it really bad, or is it just a minor seam?

It's noticeable, but the style almost makes it look like a natural anatomical design, so it's not too bad, the forehead seem is what's ugly between the cut and the lack of continuity of pain between the head and the face elements, it just stands out what they did.

Also are the dreads soft like the Predalien's?
Sorry for the two posts in a row.

They are soft, but most of the back ones are molded in clumps of 3-5 or so dreads, you can pose the head a good bit, but with the weapons and packs on the back, you'll want to help the dreads move around the gear.

Oh. Yeah McToys' version dreads were all sculpted into one clump, and were as stiff as can be. They alowed zero head turning with the backpacks, and the backpacks weren't removeable.

It's funny... I remember when the McF MM5 Boxed came out and I thought the Pred was pretty good.
I hadn't seen my McF collection in a while (packed away) and when I was at NECA they had the McF pred and theirs just looked like it was in a completely different league. Just the whole paint apps, the detailing, the articulation. NECA's aliens and preds really make McF's stuff look very dated.

Sounds like my futile efforts to get McF P1 off eBay won't be a problem, if NECA ever puts one out.

The first McFarlane Predator's paint was horrible.

The NECA stuff looks great and accurate and I really hope they do Predator 1, 2, and Alien 3. With better articulation on the Predators.

They already said the warrior from Aliens is a good chance. Probably see it next year. Plus Alien's 30th anniversary is coming next year.

They answered a question about a Queen on their Myspace page. They said an inscale Queen is not likely and would be way too expensive.

Honestly, these figures may be more expensive to produce, but they sell like hotcakes! Look at the Hot Toys figures!

These creatures are just cool and great for action figures.

I hope you're right, I've seen a lot of NECA stuff become shelf warmers, Pirates, Horror, Labrynth. I'm hoping Aliens and Predators are successful so that we see more out of it.

I don't quite buy the whole Queen's too big thing because of their making 18" figures, unless the issue is that the small figures are made from larger models, in which case, a base queen might be too large to be worth their while, but I don't see why the couldn't just sculpt one in scale with the current figures.

They said they wouldn't do an 18" Predator figure, right now atleast, because of the same excuse. Too expensive.

Well, I can understand staying away from 18" versions of figures, I think in most cases, other than ALIEN, it's a bit superfluous, the only thing I really like is the detail is great and paint apps a bit better, but for space and cost, 12" and 8" scales are ideal from them. The Queen might be 18" but she'd be in scale with the 8" drones and I'm sure many Alien fans would make exception to get that.

I agree on the issue of the 18" figures. They do take a lot of space.
The thing is, an alien or predator is very costly to produce, because it has lots of different parts (especially in the case of the preds) that have to be cast separately and a lot of detail. But people don't get why they should pay more for such an intricate figure versus your run of the mill Harry Potter figure.
I wouldn't mind paying more for the aliens and preds, if that meant I would get more of them, but people have a price fixed in their heads for 7" figures (and 18" for that matter) 1/6 scale collectors are a lot more conscious of pricing differences (I guess because we're used to pay more for our toys anyway).
Anyway, NECA has to sell a lot more preds and aliens to make a profit than, say, Harry Potters.
So, if you want more aliens and preds, buy more of them!

I'd buy 3 myself, maybe we need to start emailing neca and let them know how bad we want a Queen alien.

Just got neca wolf. SO dissapointed. HOT TOYS rule.

That seems like such an odd comparison. NECA makes 8" little statue figures with limited articulation and functionality, Hot Toys makes fully articulated, highly functional figures. Of course most times that'll win out, but it's also comparing one piece to another that's 10 times as costly. McFarlane-NECA comparisons I get but comments like NECA not so good HT rocks just seem silly to me, they're entirely different product types.
