I don't understand the hostility towards any maker....If they make Pred's they're OK in my book. All this other "mine is better than yours" crap is Bull. Some of you guys sound like NECA fanboys. Just enjoy that any company is making cool stuff. It's a good time to be a fan of Preds and Aliens.

Just to spread some Alien and Predator collectible love, here's a couple of pics of McF and Aoshima alien-ness!

That's the Aoshima "Big Chap" (yeah, it was also called that way).
It came out a few years ago. Very nice figure, there were two vesions, one came with Jones and the other with egg-morphing Brett.
The Aliens version came in two different colors, one silvery-black, the other grey-blue.
Lemme see if I have a couple more pics.
Both are repainted.

Not meaning to derail the thread, but since more info has been asked for...

Here's a couple more pics.

The original, unpainted Aoshima Big Chap:

(I might another one of those when I get the NECA alien!)

Hope you enjoy.

I do find it surprising that figures of this scale and price can stir up that kinda conversation. Now, I find positives and negatives with both companies and there's definitely room for discussion over figures turning out worse or better but it doesn't need to come down to "fan boy" arguments, it can be civil.

Yeah, I "customized" it. LOL!
Basically it involved brutally attacking the jaw with an x-acto knife. The jaws are actually two separate pieces, so if you're careful, it can be done. You'll have to shorten the inner jaw though, because it doesn't fit inside the closed mouth. The tubes will need a bit of re-adjusting as well.
It does look a lot better though, IMHO...

I couldn't agree more. And those putting down one company or the other probably have both in their collections. Like I said earlier it's a great time to be a fan of both franchises. And there's plenty of choices to make everyone happy.

I got rid of all my McF AvP figures a long time ago, they just didn't look very good to me anymore.
But these NECA ones are really beautifully made and very detailed. Hopefully they'll go through the whole franchise.

McFarlane wouldn't let the figures be accurate. Look at the prototype for the first Alien and Predator.

Specifically one part. The Predator's backpack was accurate, but was changed for some reason.

Kyle "Tankman" (who did the NECA figures), talked about this on another forum.

I'll see if I can find it.

At the time the figures were great, but looking at them now, the inaccuracies stick out. The tiny Predator heads. The really bad helmet sculpts. The dinosaur Queen alien.
