And since when do vocal minorities hold any sway with these companies. (not arguing with you here btw) I sure wish vocal minorities were listened to by Hot Toys, then we might have accurate endoskeletons and Predators instead of the artistic interpretations they usually put out.

And why wouldn't NECA listen to what I'm sure must be a vocal majority that would probably far prefer to see a full BD Robocop and Robocain. Don't answer that, I know why. Easier and cheaper to repaint existing figures

I'm saying it might be a vocal minority. Can't tell for certain. However, NECA's twitter page is loaded with retweets saying "LOVE NES JASON! ZOMG NES Freddy! MOAR NINTENDO REPAINTS!!!!" Could just be a minority that Randy Falk is making vocal and that he just loves making that kind of thing more than he should.

I like the paint apps, it does pop, but it seems like a custom than a regular figure. It just doesn't seem like something that should be made to sell.

They're really milking these tools.

Any one remember those Hasbro Star Wars comic figure packs? They're just like these.

Its fine really. I'll be happy enough with my existing Robo's and ED-209. Hot Toys are covering the full BD anyway.

Mainly I feel bad for the people who (can) only collect NECA.

I am. I don't know about 'impressive' though. I just don't have many financial responsibilities outside of the hobby at the moment. I do have a credit card and a severe lack of self-discipline.

Oh I agree mate.

I don't have the space for the HT ED and NECA has done a fantastic job on their version. I was speaking mainly about seeing them together and not so much in a vs. comparison.

What's great about NECAs one is it also has the leg extension feature. Even HT's first ED-209 didn't have that (although their new one does of course)
