Just got my ED today from CSC, haven't opened him yet.

The packaging art is fantastic. People said this is light? It feels like a good 3-4 pounds to me.

Ed-209 is awesome. I am very happy with this purchase. The detail is pretty good on him and his scale is pretty good with Robocop. Great piece from an awesome movie

Love me some NECA Robocop stuff! Every release so far has been stellar.

The nostalgia factor of Night Fighter Robocop prompted me to put together a Kenner Tribute "NECA Action Toy Guide" today... Thought you guys might like it-

Didn't knew you were a Robocop fan Sallah. Will you be getting the HT ED and Robocop?

I am a fan... but the big money is devoted to Burton Batman stuff. :) The NECA product feeds my need for Robo-stuff pretty well, and it doesn't break the bank...

This has made me go a get the Robos at Fye. Thanks!

This guy is a winner. So happy to have a great figure of a piece of classic Phil Tippet stop motion, without having to pay $500 and devote the huge amount of space for the Hot Toys version! (Which I'm sure will be awesome, but still.)

Wow. The NECA ED-209 looks pretty amazing to me. Gives you pause before shelling out $400+ for the HT version. I don't even think the stop motion puppet Phil Tippet created was as big as the HT version, I think it was closer to NECA's size.

Just opened it up, it's fantastic. The twist ties are a pain in the ***, but other than that, really nice. It doesn't feel cheap to me at all. Great joints and solid paint applications.

My only issue with it is on the foot. I have a stray black "warning" print on the toe. It kind of bugs me. All the other warning prints are where they should be so I don't know where that came from. Oh and it seems like one leg/foot is slightly higher than the other. Both feet lay on the ground flat, but the left one is sort of up a bit.

You should be able to fix the uneven footing by extending/ retracting the legs though, right? Unless I am thinking of the problem in the wrong way...

Nope, that was the first thing I tried. I don't think it's the legs but the actual feet. It doesn't look crooked or anything and stands find, it's just that the left foot is clearly "hovering" a bit around the third toe.

Great figure, love it. It is a bit over-sized though, just trying to imagine how robo grabbed on of ED's 'arms' and aimed to the other, and it seems that you can not really achieve it with the 2 NECA figs. But who cares, right? ED209 came out great,l mine has zero issues.
Be careful though - the flaps on his legs look like having hinges, but they don't. Tried to open one, and snapped it clean off. Was an easy fix, but still, it's static, so don't try opening them :)

Yeah. I think it was Phil Tippett that addressed the fact that it was impossible, and they cheated by having the shoulder with the disconnected arm out of frame. Was in one of the "Making of" documentaries on one of the DVDs.

^They couldn't really do it in the film either, not without cheating.

Nice pictures. How's the sound quality with it? Does he cycle through numerous phrases?

I am loving NECA right now! After getting their 18" Keaton and West Batmen( can't decide which one is cooler) Also have the old 18" Robocop they put out, but this ED209 is amazing! I have the 7" spring loaded Robo but now I definitley gotta get the BD version to battle ED209. Seriously if you are a Robocop fan and have a family to feed this is a great way to get an awesomely detailed toy of this bot without breaking the bank. I would love to get the HT offerings but who the heck can afford to collect those dang things. Heck I have a hard time justifying NECA's prices as it is but they are giving me my money's worth lately. I hope they keep it up!ed209a.jpg ed209b.jpg

Wow, the missiles DO come out! Cool catch man! I wouldn't have thought that!
