I never understood that diorama that encounter on a porch never happened in the movie.

Agreed, I think they just wanted a Michael and Loomis 2 pack and decided they wanted to make the Myers house porch and put them together, accurate or not.

I mean it works because porches are synonymous with trick or treating and she did fumble for her keys in the famous scene on the porch and a porch is more toy aesthetically pleasing than a dark bedroom.

I never liked the outside balcony shot from H2 with the stunt guy walking on the plywood raised above the balcony railes. It looks so bad with him walking backwards on it lol

I don't like that shot for a number of reasons, the whole movement differs from H1, there are more gunshots than in the original movie, just sloppy continuity. I also believe the balcony he falls out of originally faces a back yard but in H2 it's facing the front of the house.

I would like to see an updated '78 and a new Loomis though, the sculpt work on the original Loomis is great but the overall pose choice is a little strange, but both he and Michael are from the early days of NECA and their stuff has come a long way since.

Yeah seeing NECA's 2018 Myers I can only Imagine what an update 78 would look like... Same with Loomis and updated articulation. Sadly that day may never come unless Akkad changes his price.

My biggest need to know thing with this new movie is how they explain him going from disappearing at the end of '78 to being captured, and then how do they sell that last time he came back after 15 years but this time he's waited for nearly 3 times that before running amok again.
