I dunno... this just doesn't feel like Batman. Maybe I've been spoiled too much by DCAU and the Arkham games.
It seems way more like a straight up comic book Batman without anything else from the likes of movies, TV shows and what not, but I'm not feeling it either. Was there even any actual gameplay?

Good question. I played a bit of Telltale's TWD, and it felt more like interactive episodes - with fixed camera angles, scripted scenes, and some gameplay in the middle.

It's gonna have a lot to prove....

Not really feeling Troy Baker's performance either, it's not bad but it doesn't stand out at all.

ugh could the basic plot be any more boring? Falcone, Harvey Dent, batman begins stuff, idk I was hoping for more of a Batman murder mystery with some colorful vilains. Also what is so interesting about playing bruce wayne? I'm pretty sure Batman himself loathes it and finds it boring.

Sadly I have to agree. Having Falcone and Harvey Dent means they'll either do the Long Halloween or Two-Face angle. For some reason writers can't write Dent unless it's Halloween or a Two Face origin.

I kinda wanted a Batman story with less to no rouges, since this type of game could allow that, where all you do is solve crimes and such, but oh well.

This episode thing is throwing me. I'm used to just paying for a game and playing it. Is there a schedule for future episodes? Do we know how many episodes there are in total?

here's a link to one of their most popular games, wolf among us. From my understanding their games aren't gameplay interactive but more you make choices as the story plays and that effects your outcome.

here's a gameplay video of it

The wolf among us is amazing. Probably my favorite game from them so far.
I have Immensely enjoyed every single game telltale has made, and eventhough I never played the original borderlands, I blindly bought telltale's borderland just because it's by telltale and again, enjoyed the experience.
The biggest factor for me now in playing videogames is the storytelling, and this is where they excel.
The other thing that they excel well is the artwork. All their games are such an eye candy.

Batman is in good hands with telltale.

Interesting, because I know nothing about this developer, only still being a somewhat gamer noob since dropping out for a while.

I keep seeing 'Wolf' around in the stores on PS3 for dirt cheap, but by the sound of it their games aren't my thing. I want to PLAY a game, not watch it.

These are interactive stories, there aren't any real game play, it's all choosing dialogue. There used to be children's books like that, like Goosebumps interactive stories where you make a decision and then flip to a certain page to continue, it's basically a digital version of that but with cinematics instead.

The point of the game is you make decisions and it affects the story as it unfolds, and your story can play out very differently depending on what you choose to do. The good thing about not having actual gameplay is that the story isn't as restricted as your average game, your decisions could lead to a completely different path. I think most of their games you can download the first episode free on your phone to try them out, Wolf among US and the Walking Dead are probably some of their best.

IMO, don't play this when you feel like playing a game, play it when you feeling like watching a movie, this is a cartoon that lets you choose what happens next, it's kind of neat in that sense.

Telltale Games also made Back to the Future: The Game and if you're a BTFF fan, you can't miss it since it's EXCELLENT.

I can appreciate that but again, it doesn't sound like my thing. There were 'choose your own path' books well before the Goosebumps stuff but yeah, they were a great idea generally.

I'd still be interested in checking some of these titles out if only to satisfy my curiosity, but I think Youtube can cover that adequately enough for me. I just want to see a bit of the in game footage if anything.

Nobody's mentioned it so far, but Tales From The Borderlands is one of their best (and best-reviewed) games to date. Metacritic isn't perfect but, for what it's worth, it also holds the highest aggregated review score of any Telltale game. Definitely worth it if you've played Borderlands 2, and honestly it'll be nearly as good if not.

agreed. the best telltales game for me.

Great 1st chapter, cant wait for the rest. The story seems to be pretty good too. Loved it.

I really enjoyed the first chapter too, apart from one thing:

Their interpretation of The Penguin. It was just SO far removed from the character that it just wasn't the character at all to me.

Aside from that, I thought it was great. Troy Baker was surprisingly good as Batman/Bruce, Catwoman was cool, the story was great, and the decision making elements were good also. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Played first episode last night. Loving the game as usual telltale games.
For the first time in a videogame, I'm actually enjoying playing as Bruce Wayne a little more than Batman.

The visuals are amazing!

I'll wait until it's free and then I'll just get the rest for a discount (always happens with TT games)

Sounds like a good game, but it can wait.
