New Display Design Idea

I made this over a weekend. I was trying to deal with my son's every growing collection of 1/24 and 1/18 scale die-cast cars. He has been collecting since he started to talk.

I wanted a neat way to display them , Detolf's would have worked but the expense would have been considerable. We also were looking for a way to display them off the floor.

I cam up with this.

Its a shoe storage shelf (turned on its side), which I then modified to put in LED lights. Mounted to the wall with lag bolts and small shelf brackets.

Thought I would share , hopefully give someone else an idea or two....

Not as much time as you might think ......if I had done it in a single day (not stopping to teach my son how to do it) it might have taken 6-8 hours total...including beer break...
