Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Originally our store wasn't going to carry Amy Pond, but we have had a few requests from people who ordered The Doctor from us, so I listed her today. :)

Thanks for the video! It seems he turned out really great.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Agreed. Great likeness and great tailoring work. Fears that the production piece won't live up to high hopes are starting to subside, and I find myself looking forward to this one more and more now.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

That's a great video. Thanks for posting that. I could not go to the LF&CC this year and I am very hacked off about it too!

I know that there has been delay after delay, but it really looks like the BCS boys and girls have been trying really hard to get things done properly. It certainly seems to show it in the figure as seen. All we need now it the release date. :impatient:

So, what do folks here have PO's for?

I personally have the Signature Doctor and the Signature Amy Pond on PO. I will definitely PO the Tennant Doctor when he becomes available, I mean the (was it?) TOY OPTIONS ones were OK and better than the TONNER figures so I am glad to have them. But I would seriously like to see what BCS can do with it when they get their hands on him.

Can anyone identify the demographic for TONNER figures? Who are they aimed at?

I wish we could get a date for the 11th. Trying to plan my spending with so much cool stuff coming out!

Yeah, the two figures together are about $470 direct from BC, or just under $400 from US vendors. Whichever way I go, that's a big piece of cheddar. HT, SS, EB are coming out with a lot of other products and I want to be able to plan my purchases correctly.

They REALLY should give us a release date that they're confident they can make at this point.

I have a feeling that The Doctor will be here soon but that Amy will be the delay which should make that effect on sales interesting.

Is it not Bc's plan to still release both together to save on shipping them to retailers separately, the result being any delay in one will delay the other?:dunno

Yep. They have said they want to ship them both together to save their postage costs.

I'm really conflicted over these. I have the signature 11 on order so I can't cancel it without losing my deposit and really want it. I want amy too but ssc have got some nice sw stuff coming and money is so tight compared to a couple of years ago that I have to be sure. It's a downer.

OK sorry it's a bit jumpy, it was a bit busy and people were knocking into me now and then, you also can see the box.

it's about 55 seconds into the video

Still laughing about when we both had to think of the Dr's name!!

Spoke with BCS yesterday... Just to let you know what they are working extremely hard, I was happy with how there Dr turned out and they said they are still some small details that needs to be sorted then its a go!!

The one I had on display was a late prototype, any of you at SDCC there is one there too!

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

apparently there's a 1/6 scale TARDIS prototype at San Diego Comic Con this week, possibly from Quantum Mechanics?

The best laid plans. BCS knows how many people are chomping at the bit for these and how people are starting to get beyond irritated especially on some of the specific Who boards so they'll push out Eleven as soon as possible even if Pond isn't ready.

Well if Pond's not due to be shipped until October...

I don't think it'll be that long but do I think they'll ship separately.

It is from QMx and we have a better chance of the Eleventh, Tenth AND Ninth being out before they have one. They've had the Doctor Who license forever yet have still not produced a Sonic despite being the big selling point. The 11th Sonic they offered was made by Robatto more of a distribution than anything else.

Even when asked about this they said they'd sell it eventually but weren't sure when. I'm sure BCS will have their own 1:6 TARDIS out before QMx has theirs and hopefully seeing one done in prototype form will light the fires under BCS and get theirs out sooner than later.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Boom! I won the Internet!

Big Chief Studios' Facebook page said:
We are pleased to announce that we have been given a date of the end of July for the completion of the Doctor, ready for shipping. It should take around 3 days for the shipment to clear customs and then a further 5 days for the stock to be air freighted to our warehouse*. Remember that we are flying in a quantity necessary to cover our direct orders only. The balance of the stock for retailers will ship by ocean, which takes 4 - 5 weeks. Therefore if you purchased from us direct, you will receive your figures early. We estimate that the shipment will arrive in our warehouse around 10th August, or before. We will begin processing your orders for payment from Wednesday 8th August and once your payments have cleared we will ship your figures from Monday 13th August.

We also received samples of our Amy Pond figure and can confirm that the head portrait, deco, costume, accessories and display base have all been approved. However, the female body continues to be a problem. Since our last update regarding the expected shipping dates the problems have continued to plague our vendors. We are committed to delivering a high quality figure to our customers and so we have made the decision to postpone the shipment of Amy Pond until we are satisfied that the female body meets our standards. We apologise for the further delay and we will confirm the new shipping date to you all as soon as possible
