Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Great pics, nice to see someone showing off the accessories finally. The head looks way too big for the body to me.

The head does look a bit big but otherwise it's very good for a first outing, if Big Chief can continue to improve with each release then maybe I'll give them a go if they stay in the game long enough to make any of the original 8 Doctors.

I was thinking the same thing at first, but it's clearly Lense distortion. Look at the shots that don't have the head in the center. looks like a different figure.

Head does look big but pics can be very misleading, I got Billyb's sculpt set aside for a raggedy Doctor custom, it will be interesting to see which I end up preferring.

Exactly, I use an additional lens for my iPhone 4 for closeups and that's what makes it look big and long. Looks fine in-hand.

::Wonders what this extra lens was originally purchased for.:: :lol

Seriously though, thanks for the shots! I wish the screwdrivers were a little bit more nicely painted but these are HUGE shots of tiny things. So, I'm sure they'll look just fine in real life.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

The figure looks really good. I just can't justify the price on a Doctor that I don't really care for. Now, when Tom Baker or Christopher Eccleston come out, I'll buy either one of those in a heartbeat.

I just can't get enough of this figure, it's brilliant.

I know the feeling :) Been having great fun playing around with him this evening. A trio of quick diorama shots (light not great for close-up, reviewy type photos)...

Heck, I'm even warming to that jacket now.

Great photos Nick! Love the tardis and where the hell did you get that master?

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Matt Smith has a huge mellon for the head so this 1/6's head seeming a little big means everything is perfectly in scale :D

Great Master figure there! Excellent. Roger Delgado (RIP)...or to give you his fantastic full name, Roger Caesar Marius Bernard de Delgado Torres Castillo Roberto (1 March 1918 – 18 June 1973).

That is a good custom there, is it just the head or did you get the full figure done?

And, by all accounts, one of the nicest chaps you could wish to meet.

Anyhow, thanks both of you. The head was sculpted by one of this board's own; Mr Barlow (Russ Lukich) and I used the Triad 'School Boy'(?) uniform for his outfit.

FOOTNOTE; WARNING WARNING... when futzing or undressing the Doc keep an eye on those jacket buttons - the eagle-eyed may have noticed that one has gone missing on that last set of photos. Just spent 20 minutes or so crawling around on a grey/brown flecked carpet searching for a tiny button brown on one side, grey on 'tother. Thankfully the Toy Gods were merciful and I managed to find it. Might have just been a fluke/bad luck but I hope Big Chief will get a stock of buttons in just in case any go missing.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I paid for the SE mainly because I thought it'd be cool to have the new Doctors all signed by their actors but Matt Smith's signature is fairly hilarious.

OK, having fully checked the figure (and carried out a minor repair to a loose cuff button,) I have to state that the photos and statements do not do the figure any sort of justice. It is every bit as good a sculpt as Hot Toys and Enterbay's very best. The body actually stands (please note Enterbay). The packaging and accessories are also right up there with the very best in the field, while the clothing is probably THE best I have seen. Great job Big Chief, what a great start. It was certainly worth the wait. Now please bring us the girl who waited! :)

Where does one find the signature plate and COA? I have the sig base for the stand but no COA or signature plate.

I have taken the entire gubbins apart in case it was in some hidden nook or otherwise undiscovered cranny.

Actually I am very irritated by it as I have been charged for it.
