Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I'm a bit surprised that there isn't more love for Eccleston. After all, if the first season hadn't been likeable/successful, 10 & 11 may never have come to be.

They should also include the journal of impossible things with 10, that would be a cool accessory.

Oh I'm a big fan of Eccleston's! I'd love to get his figure. I still say he was a better Doctor in his first season than Tennant was in his first season.

After 4 and 10, I bet 9 and 3 are the next Doctors to get made.

Eccleston was my first Doctor and was FANTASTIC.
I wish he had one more series, hopefully he's returning in some way for the 50th.
Can't wait to see what BC has in store for him. Hopefully a choking Auton arm!

He should come with a banana, bananas are good!:monkey1

That's how I feel about the 1st Doctor. Had audiences not enjoyed him way back then, there wouldn't be Doctors 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc. etc. today. I'm definitely looking forward to the 9th Doctor joining the Big Chief range. And the 1st Doctor too. :)

Wow, 10 looks awesome!

Would also be very iinterested to see how Eccleston turns out. Love the UBoat look.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Stunning. Tom looks better in the new shots and I love the way they're going to make the scarf-length accurate to people's memories rather than the prop! That's real confidence (and genius).

Tennant is amazing, I think the shot makes it look like the neck is slightly too short and/ or the head slightly too big, but I'm sure it won't look that way when he's finished. I kind of wish they'd done the suit more brown. But apart from that, wonderful.

i missd the post on saturday, I get my 11 tomorrow!!!!!!

Btw who did that sherlock head from a few pages back? It looks great.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Soooo excited for all of these. There are minor quibbles and things they could improve but overall I'm very pleased.

It seems they are going more towards a generic stand for all the figures. I thought the idea of bases that match the TARDIS floors was very cool, but this seems more cost effective. Even though Matt won't match the others now, presumably.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I am so happy about the direction and quality if this line.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I think it was actually a very deep wine/purple color in real life, but on camera it alwalys looked brown to me too. I've never thought of it as burgundy, that's more the S18 look.

Yeah, I remember it being a deep burgundy too, although as you say on camera it did look more brown. For example I took these pics on the set of Face of Evil as well as in his dressing room, and you can see the colour difference.

The Tom figure as well as Tennant looks very promising, although I'd like to see more nearer the time, although I suspect I'll be getting them however they turn out.

Think I'm tipping over to buying now.

An 11 + 10 + eventual Tardis is an irressistable setup...

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Talk about timing - I got the BCS 11 on Saturday, the day of the premiere. I have to say that I'm very impressed with him - from the headsculpt to the slim body and the detailed accessories.

But I have to say I probably will never display him with anything but the open sonic - it's good to have all the other stuff, even the blown up 10 sonic which was taped to the outside of the brown shipper (which was inside another shipper).

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

To be honest I've had nothing but bother since getting 11, the body arrived broken but big chief were kind enough to send me a new one!:), I ended up breaking one of his suspenders clips when I was dressing the new body and then on top of that a button fell off his jacket and it took me ages to find it, the wrist pegs( set in deeper then that of hot toys body) were a right ***** to remove too, as the replacement body didn't come with it's own.

I do however love the figure, even more now after that neck trick that Captain James suggested! ..and I admit I was smoking some strong stuff when I said I preferred the billyb sculpt!:lol I guess it was the hair that I really loved about that sculpt and thankfully in a way bc are giving us that hair with the fez sculpt and it's got a smile too which I love!

The button and suspender clip should be easy fixes!

What was the neck fix? Or what page is it on?

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Okay. Calcifer's pictures finally convinced me to try it, and you know what?

He looks sooooo much more like Matt Smith with the neck not pushed and locked into place, but just held down by the collar! Matt Smith needs that long neck.

:exactly: Looks 10X better, I mean the way it was the underside of his chin was practically resting on the collar, imagine how that would look in real life!:lol

..also in that pic of the Baker figure is that a wire going into the back of the stand?, they look like a type of stand that would maybe light up.

Matt Smith has that geeky long neck. He just looks more like himself this way. I hope if BC do a 2.0 on him they consider lengthening the neck.
