Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I'm guessing they won't also offer the option to buy these as different 11 figures. If I want a Ganger 11, I have to buy the ganger expansion and put it on an 11 I already have, or order a new one. Might be a thought to also make it possible to order an 11 ganger as a completed figure....

Yeah, I suspect we'll need a new basic figure for each version we actually want to display at once.

Maybe, maybe not. BCS said they are planning on releasing their bodies so depending on how expansive their expansions are, you could in theory piece together an entire figure save maybe the specific stand. That's also why I don't think they'll be so cheap. I have a feeling though that they'll include different shirts, ties, suspenders but not include different pants or shoes which will cause you to do a little work to go that route and keep people buying actual full figures.

I also wonder how cheap this figure will go for once it start making full import rounds and on eBay. It's still too new right now to predict. It may stay high or it might drop lower, Doctor Who stuff apparently has a tendency to drop a bit in price once they've been around for a while.

If I can score deals Eleven, even if it's just the clothed figure and forfeits everything else in terms of accessories or even box, I would happily three different versions on my shelves.

Met up with Big Chief at a trade show today, great looking booth!

Heres a few pics

10's headsculpt is great, but they really have to do something about that suit. It doesn't hang naturally at all, and puffs up around the collar like some sort of plush bathrobe.

Could do with a bit longer of a neck as well.

Also, 10 needs his brown overcoat. Its a staple of the character's image.

He's getting it. In one of the first shots we saw of him (a page or two back) it's laying at his feet.

I agree about the puffiness in areas though. I'd rather have fake labels that are one layer permanently affixed to his jacket rather than this, I think, if they can't get it be more flat. I realize they're working with the bulk of the material and making two sides. Not sure how other companies treat similar issues.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

The brown coat is included, they showed it on the shelf beside him in the other pic.

They do need to learn how to make thinner collars though, that I agree with. Mind you that has long since been an issue with a lot of 1/6 scale stuff. Scaling fabrics is tough work. But for such a new company their work so far has been pretty impressive in my opinion. And I'm sure they'll continue to learn and adapt.

I think a bigger improvement would be a sculpted neck. I really hate these head sits on the top of the neck things. I think on 10 especially it would look a lot nicer since how they have the neck right now just looks a bit awkward with that massive seam.

When are we going to see the 1/4 stuff ?
Come on BCS, show us something!

Notice how we all stopped complaining about the price once we actually got them in hand. :)

Oh yeah... The price is justified by the awesome product, and it's a product that grow organically within a product range thanks to expansions. Oh, to have all these choices. It's a great time to a Who fan and a 12" figure fan !! :yess:

That's what I've been asking about the whole time, so far not a word.

While the 1/6th stuff looks pretty good, I don't collect figures.

However, having to wade through all the posts here just for a little 1/4 scale statue news is getting tiring, I've mostly just given up.

On the very off chance that any 1/4 statue info pops up, can someone just send me a PM, thanks.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Did get pics of the Baker St Boys but can't show!!! If I did BC will have my scalp!! I value my scalp!! They are good!! ;)

OMFG! I respect your integrity on this but, dayum, I would love to see pictures. I had hoped that BC might move onto Sherlock. So happy they are doing so, but so sorry for my poor, poor bank balance. Is it time yet for a thread specifically for these?

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I said no to this when it was released as I was planning on just sticking to Batman stuff but the 11th is my fav Dr and Tennant was awesome and I adore Sherlock, I have a feeling a British Sci/Fi, Drama collection will be going alongside Batman...

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

No Sherlock pictures yet... I think I'm going to start emailing BC every ten minutes until they appear...

What kind of accessories do people want with Sherlock? Obviously we all want the coat and scarf, but the best accessory for me would be a voice chip, so that the figure can say some of his amazing lines...

Another cool thing would be little clear plastic plaques with his deductions and observations written on them... including ??????? for when he saw Irene Adler naked. speaking of which, which costume do people want for Irene Adler - bondage queen or au naturelle?

Oh my God, I wasn't bothered about getting any Sherlock stuff, but if he came with those it'd be a definite buy.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

A few costumes would probably do the trick with his scarf, long coat, casual suit, a hand gun, some pieces of evidence so you can pose him studying, his phone, violin, some decent options for BC to consider.

I find voice chips incredibly cheap, I don't think they should be on any high end figure, I think he should come with his violin,a flashlight and the deer hunter hat:D

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I saw the Sherlock figures today and considering they were just kit bashed for the show they looked great. The head sculpts are incredible, they are hoping to make an official announcement soon. I got a good look at 10th and 4th Doctor and had a very long conversation with the guys at Big Chief they have some great stuff to come. There attention to detail is astounding the treads on 10th's Converse is accurate, and they are also going to use different types of plastic for the canvas part to get the textured look. This is just for the shoes 4ths Brogues are going to be more accurate too. There are going to be a lot more accessories for each and yes the stands light up.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I think this is an excellent opportunity to make a BC Sherlock thread. :wave

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

10th's brown overcoat shown was only there as a place holder the final version will be accurate. They are going to have the right buttons, inside pocket and even the correct colour inside the coat. They are still working on the coat for 11th because they showed me something they were going to change on it.I realy was blown away by there commitment to putting out the best product they can.
The pre-order for 10th should they hope be up in the next few weeks.
