+1 To Averone, excellent guy to deal with, very good with communication and very understanding.

+1 to mah45 for fast payment on Plo Kloon

+3 to Yodasan for the fast payment on 3 Star Wars figures.

Mods:
As much as I like to get positive feedbacks, I firmly believe it should be a +1 per transaction. I think multiple +'s for the same transaction could potentially falsely inflate someones feedback. For instance, say someone new to the forums sold 20 marbles, he gets a +20. Now as a buyer I look at his feedback, +20 looks decent so I go with the seller. His +20 is not really indicative of his selling behavior. I think people should have to work hard for feedback. Maybe even make a + 3-5 limit for per transactions. This is just my 2 cents. :peace

That is why Jen has been advising people to stipulate when feedback is left, whether it is FB as a buyer or seller, maybe even mention the items that have been bought/sold.

The Feedback can also be searched to find the persons indiviual Feedbacks/posts which will list all posts made for that particular member as a buyer or seller and will show you if they have earned the Feedback's quoted in one or many transactions.

While I understand your concern, the FB system should not be the only thing taken into account when/if going to deal with someone.
If in doubt when thinking of dealing with someone, do research and look into everything you can.
x :peace

updated....and

Congrats to PATIENT ZERO -
you are now in the PANTHEON OF THE WORTHY.

(those darn figure stands put you over the top. ;) :lol)

:fireworks :fireworks :fireworks

Anyway, I agree with what Shell posted..and I too understand your concerns. I think people should definitely get +1 per item (for items such as a figure or statue)....however yes, when it comes to smaller items like stands or 1/6 scale shoes or what not...then it becomes a little gray. But where do you draw the line? Those may be 1/6 scale shoes that someone personally hand made and put a lot of effort into...well then they deserve a positive feedback for each of those items. So yes, this system is going to have it's flaws....that is why it should be used as an informational tool only.

+many to MrAndersson for selling me his collection of 29 LOTR helms. I don't know what the maximum allowable points are for this kind of transaction, but it shouldn't be less than +5. I'll let the mods decide what's fair.

+2 for uscmhicks

Traded me some loose gear for some modern military gear

+1 for crazypredator2

Traded me some loose Predator gear for loose Predator gear

+1 for Morbo

Traded me some modern military gear for modern military gear

+1 for maddogjwn13

I generally try not to comment in this thread other than feedback, but here's something I've tried to do that's different and I think I might be the only guy on site who does it this way -

https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39447

I stack my references into my Intro page and link it through into my signature. That way if anyone wants to PM someone I've dealt with, they can find it quickly.

I think given the system as is now, no offense, it's just incumbent on the potential buyer to do a cursory search on the reliability of the seller. One of the drawbacks of a raw number, as you've mentioned, is that it doesn't denote patterns of either a long term or short term nature. A person's last two or three deals is going to probably give a better baseline of what you might expect currently versus what they did three years ago.

But I think, to be fair, no offense, that even with modifications, human nature makes it so that most people tend to be conflict avoidant. Lots of people who might be shaky could take a long time before that tends to bleed out into the general membership as common knowledge. Even with massive rule changes, there's no guarantee people will actually comply, that they will actually speak up, and if they do speak up that they are being honest and accurate and fair.

I believe most people are generally solid and honest traders.

I'm not sure the changes you suggest will have the impact you might think. That's just my view though.

Best of luck, take care, just some thoughts here,

Gekko

Mods, Can you add some positive feedback for Darth Snoopy and Riverman..?

Love the figures..you guys rock!:chew

Alot of + to El Skutto. Bought 29 helms of me. Very nice person to do business with. Mods can decide how many + for 29 pcs.

+ 2 for DarkDaysinVegas great to deal with :).

Have to admit I was unsure if my feedback was warranted because of the small nature of the purchases, but 10 items were purchased and 11 were delivered so to make it clear I just went with the number.

But I figured by adding in that it was for stands that would at least explain what the transactions were for.
