It would be nice, but I wouldn't want to see them try that character on this new body right away.

Let Sideshow experiment with the female body on other lines. The Indy license has gotten enough abuse with 1:6 figures not living up to expectations.

:lol Good point!

Marion is difficult because she went through 4 distinct costume changes, all of which shared key scenes. You've got the Raven Bar outfit, the Cairo outfit, the Belloq dress and the final Ark opening dress. So no matter which one they pick, chances are a good portion of us will be annoyed that they didn't choose one of the other ones.

and if you wanna get real nitpicky there is the white dress she wore for the scene at Sallah's house for a brief moment and the dress for the final scene on the steps in Washington too :) In the end I think my favorite would be the raven bar clothing... add the medallion with neck chain, her cigar box, a torch ( to bludgeon the Nepalese thug), liquor bottle and shot glass as accessories... and the Mauser pistol as the exclusive piece and bingo... great addition to the line.....

That sounds perfect. I would have thought that the Well of Souls Belloq dress would be a great exclusive too. However, Sideshow doesn't seem keen on including alternate clothing options considering their attitude toward Star Wars clothing packs in the last Q&A. IF Hot Toys helps produce muscle bodies like Wolverine and Leonidas for Indy and Mola Ram, I would hope the resulting success prompted Sideshow to reconsider their apparantly firm stance on Marion.

Not unless those petitions come from retailers.

Obviously these collectibles require some sort of demand to be produced, but I wonder how much of Sideshow's sales actually go to retailers?

It must be quite a lot because Sideshow doesn't produce any solely in-house lines that they sell only from their site. Considering they would be making 100% of the money in that case, the fact that they don't must mean it's not feasible. I would guess a majority of the non-exclusives go to retailers.

Doubt it. I think Hot Toys Temple of Doom figures are the most likely thing to happen at this point.

I'm hoping this happens since Hot Toys Chris Redfield and Albert Wesker have excellent face sculpts and would like to see that for Indy too.

I know this is straying a bit off topic... but since we are speaking of other companies and the quality of headsculpts.. are any of you familiar with the company Did and see their latest celebrity sculpt ?? they are producing a WW2 German sniper that just coincidentally looks EXACTLY like Ed Harris' character from Enemy at the Gates.. and when I say EXACTLY.. I mean EXACTLY.. what just nails it though is their factory paint apps are un-freakin-believable... seriously... so in a perfect world, Did would do another "coincidental" WW2 figure and do a WW2 Special Operations soldier that coincidentally looked like Harrison Ford on his way to blow up that bridge in Force Ten from Navarone :) :) ... That would be a MULITPLE purchase by me....

Yeah DID has been making a LOT of those "coincidental" celebrity headsculpts. Take their T.Becker figure for example that looks identical to Robert Knepper's character on Prison Break.

And I do think that it may be realistically plausible that Sideshow might be "sharing" their Indy license with Hot Toys for TOD figures similar to how they "shared" the POTA license with them. That would make perfect sense and ring true with their Q&A hint that they were taking a "pause" to research new bodies or something like that. I would imagine Hot Toys would create a new sculpted leaner muscle body for TOD Indy like they did with Wolverine.

Best. Idea. EVER!

Is there somewhere we can suggest this on DiD's site?
