Yeah, this thread made me have a good play around with my Medicom Fett again. It's awesome. If SS make one that's more awesome, then great. But seriously guys, don't wait - there's an awesome Fett available right here and now.

hear hear mate

the problem is that ssc might make the bestest (SIC) boba ever but will i die of old age waiting?

It's all good. I don't have any brand loyalty whatsoever. I just buy what I like. I don't understand this whole "Yeah, looks awesome. But there might be something better in the future, so I'll wait" attitude. Smacks of fanboyism.

I thought this whole hobby was "fanboyism" - either way, my ESB medi Fett rocks and my ROTJ medi Fett will as well - SS will be good, but why pass on a stellar figure that is available to order now?!

Dunno about you, but I'm afraid of paying $150 for a figure with a shoddy likeness that's gonna drop limbs like a leper. :huh

You're afraid of anything that isn't made by Sideshow. I guess you must have shares in the company. Heaven forbid another company might (HORROR!) actually make something better than they do.

If you don't like the Medicom Fett, why don't you buy the Sideshow one? Oh wait...

So I just received my 1st RAH today. I got the re-issue of the Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater - Brick Camo snake.

I gotta say...for the price (161) this figure is very underwhelming. While I still love it because I have wanted this figure ever since it released 4 or 5 years ago? I will not be buying anymore Medicom products. The bodies are indeed cheap (I am under the asssumption this is a new body) but upon switching the hands one of the wrists pegs broke so I am afraid to move it in any other position.

After getting this I can easily wait for SS Fett figures because of my Medicom experience.

Have the first Medicom 12" release of both Jango and Boba. The 2nd pack ain't worth droppin' the coin on yet another Jango. Besides, the 2nd pack should have been included with the origianl release anyway. The repainted Boba does nothing for me esp. at that cost.

Yeah, good idea. Write off an entire range of figures, just because of one bad experience. I mean, it's not like any other figure has ever broken, right? My HT Alien Warrior fell apart, so of course I'm NEVER going to buy another HT product.

Don't cut your nose off to spite your face. The Medicom Fett is one of the best 1/6 figures money can buy, and I (like many others) have had no breakages or issues at all.

mines been through the whole gamut of poses and am happy to report the limbs are as tight as when he arrived on my doorstep.

Every product will have a bad day - that doesn't mean they will all be like that.

Man there are some adamant people on this board. I have played with alot of my toys and none of them have broken, the sideshow and the hot toys. But considering this guy was just brought out of the box and he broke? That doesnt instill confidence for a first time buyer. Sure there are plenty other Medicom figures I would like, but for the price you pay you generally dont get alot.

Maybe with the Fetts its different but I do not like how cheap the figures feel.

So yes I will write off an entire range of figures based on one experience. For those who cant afford to buy everything under the sun. It makes it hard when your 1st purchase from a brand is not a good experience. Not saying the Fett figures are amazing but I can do without them and put money elsewhere.

The way the figure looks is not an issue with me. The Medicom Fetts look phenomenal. I am also good with the smaller scale...particularly on Jango. Jango was a lot shorter than Obi-Wan in EII. But I have had too much breakage on my Medicom figures. I am well aware that there are many people who have had no breakage issue...don't care...I have...with more than one of my Medicom figures. Whatever the reason is, Medcom figures simply don't do very well under Darth Cruel conditions. And under those conditions, Sideshow figures have been just fine except for a single instance of Obi-Clone's ankle joint breaking. And it is a hell of a lot easier to get problems with Sideshow figures corrected than it is to get Medicom figure issues corrected due to the awesome Sideshow and poor Medicom customer service.

For me, there is also an issue with the portraits on the individual characters having what seems to me to be a little too anime-ish style to them. Just a personal preference for me, but I do not really care for that look.

So yes, I am swearing off Medicom figures...even my beloved Shadow Stormtroopers.

:nana: (I am only adding the smiley because my 5-year-old daughter asked me to, it is not actually intended as a taunt)

Well at least you gave them a chance man. Fair play to you.

I guess I'm just a little sick of the anti-Medicom sentiment on this board. I know it's the Sideshow Freaks forum, but you don't get the same range of stuff covered on other forums as you do here. There are a few level-headed and open-minded posters, but the sheer number of tedious anti-Medicom posts gets a bit wearing. You certainly don't get Medicom owners wading into Sideshow threads saying "It's too tall, I'll pass, I'll wait for the inevitablly superior Medicom version" do you? It's absolutely pathetic behaviour.
