Okay, so it counts lurkers too.

Most users ever online was 808, 06-29-2007 at 11:26 PM.

The link from the SSC newsletter was 2 weeks ago I believe.

Most users online... yesterday 906. But don't get excited! I was able to do a little research and realized that about 800+ of those users were "Yahoo Slurp Spiders" crawling the web site! I now believe the previous record (which was a mystery of why users were online) were also the Spiders. So, really, the best estimate of true "users online" would be members plus guests, and ignore all the Spiders, but that would be manual adding...

What's "yahoo spiders" ?

They are automated computer programs that "crawl" web sites and index their content for search engines. All the search engines (Google, MSN, etc) use spiders to gather the info they need to return search results.

We have, I'm just never seen that many at once before. I think Yahoo must have changed their spider program, because in the past it never seemed to be more than about 50 or 100 at one time. At least it brings up the Freaks board higher up in searches and such!
