Did you see in the trailer how well they did the CG though on Marcus's left side damaged face?..you can see the jaw piping or gears whatever moving with every word he says..i have the trailer in HD..it looks soo good, can't wait for this one..biggest movie for this year for me, i'd say.

Yeah that part of his face looked fantastic and I'm in no way saying this movie is not going to kick ass. All I was pointing out is how they the upper part of the left side of his face didn't look as cool as it could have ala Arnold in T-3.

They didn't do the CG in T3 properly - his flesh on one side was ripped off completely - teeth and metallic jaw gears visible and yet every time Arnie opened his mouth no light got in - as though there was no flesh damage at all.

That pic is too dark to really see whats messed up on him, i think the damage around the left side of the eye is a bit too perfect..like i mean it seems to be a eye with a hair bit more of flesh with it and that is it..the rest is metal..but, whocares..i hope this movie is dark and depressing.

This doesn't look like it'll do things properly either. If all the flesh is ripped off one side then light should get through the gaps into the mouth. But, as with T3, they won't take this into account and inside the mouth will be completely dark.

edit - although it does look like a dark scene and his mouth isn't open that wide in this pic.

Also, we don't truly know how these things look with no flesh on them on screen(i mean in regards to how the head is shaped, jaw etc..might be more full then the 800 series), this is a new hybrid model i am assuming, it looks pretty cool from that chart of endo's that was posted earlier..i kinda like it better then the T-800 ..almost.

Is a detail like that really worth fussing over? Seems like nit-picking to me.

The most recent trailer was amazing......seeing it on the big screen was awesome. This film has jumped to the top of my summer movie list. And there are a lot of possibly great films coming out this summer. I just hope I am not getting too excited for this film.

Not true. Every trailer you see has unfinished CG shots. Things will be tweaked until a few days before the release date.

I don't think thats CG... but bad make-up effects.

I was talking about the final stage facial damage in T3 - that was definitely CG. Plus any facial damage they do on a 'skinjob' Terminator nowadays that involves the exposure of teeth, eyes, gears&pistons is pretty much guaranteed to be CG. I can't see them going the makeup route with that anymore.

There is supposed to be a new trailer during The Sarah Connor Chronicals next week. Not sure if its brand new or just a tv debut of one of these but it might be worth checking out.
