Sadly we'll probably get something like this
I agree. Cap looks OK to me, as does Thor (in Asgardian armor).Honestly looking at the Captain America costume while some aren't a fan of it, it definitely blends the look and feel of the comic costume into a more realistic feel. I'm hoping they'll take Hawkeye's costume and give it the same characteristic and feel whether its actually purple tights or not. I want The Avengers to feel super whether they are in tights or not.
About SS.........no. Because theirs nothing "positive" about their products. My opinion, public forum.
Chris,The quality of their stuff is fine. Pieces here and there have issues but that's the same for most places. Keeping up and reading makes sense but posting how bad everything is with everything is trolling.
I am loving the PF concept art for the upcoming movie Captain America and will most likely pick it up; ESPECIALLY if it has switch out head sculps with the WWII helmet. Comic fans need to realize that Spiderman and Batman are really the only movies that have successfully implemented a "comic" costume into a live action movie. The "comic" costumes were horrible on all FF4 movies and I don't think they would work with the X-Men or AvengersHonestly looking at the Captain America costume while some aren't a fan of it, it definitely blends the look and feel of the comic costume into a more realistic feel. Kind of a bummer, but I know they're gonna do as you say (Renner said in an interview that he wasn't gonna wear a "silly" purple get-up). Bummer because Hawkeye's one of my favorite Marvel characters of all time, and as everyone knows, classic Marvel trumps contemporary and movie Marvel. Everytime. They didn't make Thor a guy with goggles and a trenchcoat or whatever the ____ they think makes a "realistic" Marvel hero nowadays.

And once your Thor PF shows up looking like a happy meal toy you will be singing a different tune.
Chris
This looks cool, but I think I will stick to the classic Thor PF. I also agree that classic Hawkeye in the purple outfit needs to be done. I love the Ultimates comic series, but as far as a statues to display, those versions aren't as eye catching or something that I think I need in my collection.

Dammit Fuzzy, when I saw those pics I thought it was a preview of a Modern Thor they are doing. Who is that going to be?
Chris,
Josh can be an apologist at times, but he is 100% right on this one. I have been known to criticize Sideshow, but they still make some bad ass products.
Thinking of my items to come in this year, the Ironman Maquette is the only one that had issues (albeit, major issues).
- Wolverine EX PF- great
- Sabertooth EX PF- one of my favorites
- Gambit EX PF- one of my favorites
- Ms. Marvel EX PF- paint apps not as detailed as proto pics, but still
a great piece- Firefly 1/6th- one of, if not the, best GI Joe released yet
People have the right, and should, complain about poor QC and subpar paint apps, and I agree that people should come to the boards to discuss releases, but saying that there is nothing positive about their products is really gooberish.
...
Going to a public forum set up for fans of a company you don't like just to talk negatively about that company's products? I wish I had that much spare time
You've read my opinion of Sideshow's products in the Dinosauria threads. You're the only one who thinks those statues are of poor quality. You're expectations are unrealistic. Naturally, you are welcome to them and to share them, but would it kill you to interject a positive statement here and there? No one likes someone who is always putting everything down.
