Now, just my opinion for my own collection, i'm not trying to say that anyone with items other than PFs don't have awesome collections, they do!.

I just feel that anything smaller than a PF or Comi (like bowen or 1/6 even though they look awesome) within my collection begins to appear like..well....toys instead of statues with substance.

Now, a standalone collection of Busts can also be awesome looking, especially those big suckers that they're starting to make!

Please, believe me , i'm a noob but what I definately am not is a snob and I immensely enjoy gawking at all kinds of collections of all shapes and sizes (well, except the really cluttered ones) and I just have my mind (and finances) set on mainly PF's mixed in with Comi's...

But man some of those busts look insane!

Oh, and that Cinema Predator I bow to when I see a pic of it.....He's the Master and Commander.....

Oh yeah, you should buy him as well.

I keep my 12" figures seperate from my PF's because I think they look more toy like with the PF's as well. But really they are more toy like. They're very high end and awesome and much nicer than toys, but take away the tailoring and the realistic sculpts and that's basically what they are. I don't think that's a put down to 12" figures.

I'll tell you one thing that i'll never do again no matter how high the quality of a 1/6 item....

That is pay 230.00 for a Takara Batman and 190.00 for a HT Batman like I did when I payed 195.00 for a Punisher PF and 225.00 for a Thing Exc PF!

That was a very hard lesson learned let me tell ya...

HT can come out with another Joker that is 10x more realistic looking and poseable than their current one yet I will never pay the amount I did before for another 1/6.

1/6 dollies are soo nice guys come one.......
I started on statues, then bought 1 PF and a couple of dollies...I love both, but since then i'm buying wayyyy more 1/6....They just flat out look nicer on a shelf most of the time...i get what everyone is saying about the price Predator 1 is pre-selling at 169US...+ shipping and tax....... that is alllllot of coin

the best collections here are ones that are dominated with PFs, 1/3, or 1:1 collectibles, not 1/6 stuff.

Funny, I feel the exact opposite.

I love the PFs, and they are really the focus of my collecting now. Can't think of one I feel wasn't worth it. I have almost completely quit getting 12" figures to devote the time and space to PFs and I don't regret it one bit.

hmmmmmmmm
Interesting.
To me its all about the display, 1/4 Premiums can be tough to display due to their size, 1/6 fit 3 or 4 to a detolf shelf. hmmmmmm i get what alot of you are saying thoughPersonally, I would like to eventually get a kirk and spock premium format....
is it too late for me to jump on the premium format bandwagon?:lol

Thats exactly the way I felt man, I had atleast 35 Preds at one time, ranging from 150-600 bucks a pop, then I started seeing all the 1:1's and 1/4's going for about the same, so I pretty much stopped with the 1/6 stuff...:banana

Had to choose between Darth Maul premium and SSC Darth Maul..to me, Sith robe won over light up Dual lightsaber...Point is, Premium formats can disappoint too..Sometimes 1/6 can be more suited to what a certain collector might be looking for

Never, it just gets more expensive as time goes by because you to play catch up.

Yea i know,
Its the worst where they are in sets..I could of had the premium format kirk for 160 US...But there was no Spock available....To get that spock i would have to wait wait wait, or dis out 450US......One day i will find them though...

I'm a big P.F. fan. I have a few of them. I'm not much of a 12" collector. But, I do want the Dark Knight figures.

I prefer statues. But, I also like the costumes on the pieces. So, that's why I usually purchase p.f.'s

The Dark Knight figures are what got me into collecting and what eventually drove my to PFs. I was trying to pose one of my figures and the damn batarangs kept falling off and when I finally got him posed he fell over and I had to start all over again. The button on the Jokers overcoat fell off somewere. I have no idea were it fell off or when it fell off but I paid $40 for another overcoat.

I finally thought, what's the point? Why should I wrestle with these little things when I can buy a big statue in a pose that I already like. I can move it, pick it up turn it over (with care), and not have to worry about little pieces missing and buttons falling off. So I cancelled all of my 1/6 pre-orders and never looked back.

I still have my Dark Knight figs tho. Can't bring myself to let them go.

I like both PFs and 12"ers. Anyone who looks at the new Godfather 1/6 that's coming out and calls that a toy is :google !!

Yep. SS 1/6 figures are... toy"ish". They're still collectibles, but they're still toyish IMHO.
Hot Toys on the other hand, are not toys. They are badass collectible figures.

SS Premium Formats are the best collectible available out there. Period. End of statement. It's that simple.

I will agree that there are some 1/6 that are just too cool to pass on BR Joker and that Mark III Iron Man - those are not "toys"

Don't worry though, the PF prices will grab you and pull you under very, very fast - and it will be a great ride. ;-)

You guys are all insanely awesome. You have all made me even more excited to get my first piece.

Now I just need to figure out where I'm going to put these damn things...:lol
