Sideshow still has multiple types of coupons. Some of them are only for select items that aren't selling. Some of them are good for anything.

I think if you order from them regularly, you're more likely to get the coupons that work for anything including pre-orders. At least that's been the case for me. Probably because they want you to stay in their system.

You should still check the coupons. You may get the good for anything type if you've been ordering from Sideshow. I got one of those just a few days ago so it doesn't hurt to check.

The coupon I'm talking about is one of the good ones. I know the difference. In the last day or two it seems Sideshow has drastically altered/reduced the eligible pool of items. Judging by what is now eligible they seem to be using the coupons more as leverage to get you to order what they "want" you to order instead of the coupons being more an incentive or thank you for ordering through them.

Wow, must've been within just the last day or so like you said. I got my last coupon a few days ago and it was eligible for most anything at the time.

Kind of a weirdly curated assortment of item; some good, some bad. There are still some things I could use it on, but I agree with your assessment that it feels like it's in line with what they'd want you to order.

They made a mfing giant shark and still no bespin han and C3po! Maybe the rights to the shark’s likeness isn’t as bad as Ford 😜

Zero chance that King Shark figure sells more units than a Mace Windu or General Veers would.
Still odd to see a Mace not being made. Same with a PM Obi-Wan. Howard really hates the PT looking at the release list for those movies.

Could be the thinking is the likes of the staples Han, 3PO, et al, will sell about the same amount whether they are released today or a year from today, regardless there is no immediacy, it's not they are against those, to the contrary, they know they can always comfortably sit back on those, and they will sell whenever they come out.
While others they know will only sell enough while they are hot right now (with some risky but current buzz) , yet definitely won't move in a year, so it's now or never, they get moved up the list.

I think Howard likes the PT but it's just the schedule of SW material being released these days. I doubt we'll see much of the OT or PT next year with 4 new SW shows.

I don’t think Howard hates the PT. Quite the opposite. He did make a ton of PT figures, and he did specifically say that his favorite figure that his company produced was a PT figure.

As others have suggested, there’s still a market for PT and OT, but they’re not relevant right now and will be on the back burner for the foreseeable future, if not forever. Reveals will trickle out.

TPM - 2
AOTC - 3
ROTS - 4

Always a market sure, but I don't see big production numbers there. Bad Batch is up to TPM's number.

What’s new and hot is gonna take priority over movies that are 16-44 years old, it’s just how it is.
They can always go back to the PT and OT whenever they want, people are enjoying TBB and Mando now, but will they care in 10 years? Maybe, maybe not.

Invalid. Hot Toys King Shark does exist, tangibly. While Mace or Veers are both practically thin air, zero...nothing.
My whole point was that they’re wasting their effort making King Shark. It’s nice to see something different, sure, but they should have made Windu instead. I’m obviously not comparing them literally as Windu does not exist.
