I will admit that it is a good headsculpt of a random dude
Kinda looks like Elon Musk if you squint

Add a moustache in the package and voilà, you obtain a different head for the figure.:

Come on Hot Toys, bring us the Death Star Trooper with moustache! And you can do different colors and types of moustaches, beards and especially long sideburns like in the 70's

A day away from October and they still haven't even released Rex in HK. 2022 is going to be a complete disaster as HT has clearly overpromised and bitten off more than they can chew. It's time to start making things and not just taking preorders.

I was expecting more in September, all we got was Venom (a pleasant surprise) and Endgame Iron Patriot.

I thought they had a decent summer, catching up with some products but they slowed to a halt in September.

Were supposedly supposed to get at least Rex, Ahsoka, DW Mandov Stormtrooper Commander, Grogu and Maul in the next few months. I honestly don't see that happening.

Definitely helps that Hot Toys put out a statement saying what their plans for delayed figures in the next couple of months were
Realistically for Star Wars here’s how I see the rest of the year going:
Rex
DW Mando
Assorted Mando Troopers
Maybe Ahsoka if we’re lucky
If there’s one thing Hot Toys is good at it’s releasing the most boring stuff when people are begging for big releases.
I am very impressed that they released a statement in China about their plans. I also don’t think Rex would be listed as October if they weren’t sure but that’s just me

Once Rex and Ahsoka release I honestly won't care when they release stuff anymore. Sure I'll order stuff like CW Anakin, Maul and S2 Din early but there's not a ton I'm hyped for

BAZINGA

Its like they take a certain evil pleasure in it.

Is not that new Carnage THE FUGLIEST THING YOU HAVE EVER!!!!! SEEN?!!!!

Edit: Take a look at this, I was all like ARE YOU KIDDING ME when I clicked on this, and then.... it turned out to be kind of interesting. I might just have to read this, even if only for the Fett descriptions: [SW, but not figure related... hey we gotta keep busy somehow]

You should care, though. Because that stupid stuff is going to end up delaying the stuff we're all waiting for. That, or perhaps bump it off the production line completely; who knows how HT makes decisions. It often seems to be with an Ouija board.

The Shoretroopers and Mando Transport Trooper have a very good chance at seeing release before the end of year. Easy re-use of parts + no headsculpt.

Well, I should say that once the two figures I really give damn about release, THEN I won’t care

You would think but I don't have any confidence in Hot Toys production power. They do not seem to have adjusted well to several factors like increased popularity of their products, covid, and loss of key personnel. It's been bad ever since these batch shipments became a thing. The entire North American allotment of Hot Toys used to arrive in California all at once about 4-6 weeks after HK release.

Rex should have been an easy figure for them and despite a lengthy preorder window they are already several months behind on him and many other figures, with nothing but new deadlines about to smack them in the face.

Shipping will only get worse around the Christmas season. And let's not forget the two and a half months they like to take off for Chinese New Year around February every year. They have an insane number of preorders to fill in the coming 16 months.

Yeah, their production release to pre-order ratio continues to trend in the wrong direction. I think the delays will become both more lengthy and more prevalent. It's a bit frustrating but lacking other options, I will continue to just take it... :)

Hobbies should be fun and this one is becoming increasingly annoying. The Fett show should be a good test of whether I still want to keep buying new HT or mostly call it quits and be happy after I get all the Mando figures from the first two seasons.

I have preordered a couple Prime1 statues and I would like to get more into the higher end stuff but the problem is I'm not interested in most of licenses the higher end companies produce. Sideshow has an apparent stranglehold on the Star Wars statue license and they simply can't compete with the industry leaders. I would kill for a 1/3 scale Prime1 Star Wars line.

I think Rex will be a monkeys paw situation for people who ordered from Sideshow. He’s going to come in October, but Sideshow won’t get him til February
