That would be outrageous if true. Proper clone commandos have significantly bulkier armour. HT would very much deserve all the **** they'd get if this is indeed real.

People have wanted a Clone Commando for a long time. If it's true that it's just a lazy (and inaccurate) repaint of skinny boy Hunter, and if it's done and out quickly, HT will have some very annoyed customers.
I saw that Hasbro did the same lazy repaint Bad Batch for CC's, which was bad enough.
Surely Hot Toys wouldn't be that lazy? Right? ... Right?

Tbh I'd be very tempted to get a Hunter-repaint Commando if it was a standard plain commando & looked good despite the inaccuracies (ideally with weathering to fit in with the CW/movie clones), but not one of the grey-marked 'Royal Guard' Tantiss commandos as in that picture - would be a bit disappointing to make that one instead of the standard plain Commando and/or Scorch.

Fingers crossed for an ARC Trooper Fives primarily based on the Umbara arc (so white kneepads instead of blue and a shade of blue that matches other CW 501st, in contrast to the Citadel arc based Sideshow Fives) but with both Phase 1.5 & Phase 2 helmet options (Surely that Phase 1.5 fin on the Umbra ARC is going to get reused!)

lol everyone dumping on Hot Toys on Instagram over the apparent clone commando and how they are being lazy… It’s not even official. Would be funny to see that it’s fake and everyone was fighting over nothing. When have we ever seen pictures taken like that? Last years commander Fox leak was at least from a pamphlet.

They've been lazy as long as they have been around. Porcelain troopers, Neon Iron Men, Cap sculpt being reused for years.

So is it Hot Toys you’re all really upset at or Filoni and company for lazily re-using the same armor files for the RC’s and Hunter? Because I don’t see what the issue is here.

Unless people have clearer pictures of the leaked image and can show me what’s inaccurate and/or lazy right now?

I believe canonically, Hunter is supposed to be wearing traditional RC armor (save for the helmet), but the Hot Toys translation is slimmer / more streamlined like the animation... I for one don't care one bit. I was hoping for a Scorch announcement, but this opens the door for more commandos

Guess we gotta 3D our own accurate commandos

*squinting* I need to see more. Does he have any kind of a backpack...? Commandos usually do. What about that backpack with the twin towers? That'd be cool. How accurate is the helmet? This could be a good custom base if nothing else. Is the armor glossy or matte? He does not have any of the various thigh-armor accessories Commandos can have? Does he have weapons!?

Random: A May 4th I could get excited about:

Fives (with head sculpt)
Wolffe (with head sculpt)
Howzer (with head sculpt)

Bruh. You and so many of the rest of us. I would preorder all of these on day one, and if that was a thousand buck's worth of HT then it is what it is.
But HT is dumber than an entire bag of hammers, so we will get none of this. We don't even get Scorch, although the Bad Batch version of Scorch is so bland as to be a generic yes-man. WTF...?

This isn't a shiny basic Commando, nor is he a named character. Its like "well we'll half-*** Cody's paint job on a basic Commando, they'll looooove that!" HT needs a good slap upside the helmet. With that said I will buy this, so I guess to HT that's mission accomplished.

Even if yiu compare Hunter animated screenshot to Commando screenshot you will see that Hunters armour is slimmed down, less bulky, as per the design specs for the character. Using him as base results in inaccurately skinny commandos. Commandos are meant to be buff and bulky. Hunter also has some different details from Republic Commando armour such as crotch area. His helmet is the obvious difference but his whole suit is different in more subtle ways that add up

After last year and the disaster that was May 4, I’m not expecting much. The dark empire luke would be cool, even if I don’t think the comic holds up anymore. I did love it when it released and that and heir to the empire is what rekindled my passion for star wars and made sure I was forever broke, lol. I can’t believe I would hope for phantom menace figures but I do, at least padawan obi and queen padme in the red dress. It will probably some repainted troopers and 2.0 that we don’t need. Or, they put up marvel figures and f is all.

It will likely be the figures teased so far (Dark Luke, gold chrome trooper, Shadow trooper re-release and Bad Batch commando) plus maybe some Phantom Menace teasers, likely Obi and maybe Maul re-release.

I'd love a figure of Wedge Antilles. But only an OT version. Knowing HT they'd make the blink-and-you-miss-it Rise of Skywalker version .

I think one thing that screws up this design is that the central "swoop" neckline is too narrow. This creates the impression that the chest lacks bulkiness. The pauldrons also sit at the wrong angle.

Those first 4 are my wishlist figs - I'd add Ackbar to that. But yeah, really not getting my hopes up anymore.
