I didn't think about it at the time but I guess the analysts like Dion Sanders, Steve Young, Tom Jackson etc were right about Cam's after game behavior, he was voted MVP and Dion hit it with " When you're voted MVP it comes with a message to the fans and you need to take responsibility because you represent what the NFL is all about and what the fans mean to the NFL "

Bruno didn't sing Uptown Funk in 2014...here is the set list from that Super Bowl

1."Billionaire" (Intro) (Children's choir)
2.Drum solo (Bruno Mars)
3."Locked Out of Heaven"
4."Treasure"
5."Runaway Baby"
6."Give It Away" (featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers)
7."Just the Way You Are" (Tribute to the United States Armed Forces)

Bruno was fine. I think ColdPlay was a complete wreck that ruined it, not sure if the guy was overwhelmed because I know he and the band can perform concerts live better, but the structure was all wrong , for one thing he got so tired by the third song he was out of breath and the acoustics were terrible that the music drowned out his vocals and the screaming was too much by the kids around him.

Beyoncé, I think she is better headlining and not performing in the middle. Just mostly dancing didn't seem like her vocals were on point

Honestly, I would take Bruno and Beyoncé every year...they are great entertainers. I was pretty out on Coldplay as well...they just haven't done it for me in years.

I stand corrected. I remember seeing him perform Uptown Funk at some other "show" (must have been the Grammy's or something). :dunno

Having seen Coldplay live on three occasions, I'll vouch for this. Like you said, the acoustics were terrible and the mike's volume level was off.

Back to Cam...he (and the Panthers) had a great season, was named MVP, and made it to the Super Bowl, and maybe he believed too much that this was their year and that Carolina was a team of destiny...but Denver was NOT going to roll over and coronate the Panthers. The analysis from former players that Guyver mentioned is spot on.

I came into thinking that the SB was going to go two ways

1. First for Cam and his Panthers ( not the actual panther's franchise ) but Cam's team that was built around him, and it would be overwhelming and if they lost , there's no shame because they are built to be back again and this season proved it.

2. This SB was Peyton's farewell win or lose, the defense could get the team back to the SB without him and if Denver won then it would be a swan song for him to say goodbye.

3. If the Panthers won, then it would've been a great win to cap off a fantastic season

4. If Denver lost, they can return with this defense, and I think Peyton would still retire with dignity and class.

In short I think it was good for Peyton to leave on top and for Cam and this Panther's team to learn and grow from this loss.

I'll leave this right here, but those who have already made up their mind about him will see it as nothing.

The real reason Cam Newton stormed out of his Super Bowl press conference | FOX Sports

I understand you're a Panthers fan, and I'm not sure I've made up my mind about Cam (as far as thinking he's a petulant man-child or whatever), and while I don't think it's "nothing", I don't think it was reason enough for him to just walk away.

Exactly. Peyton rides off in the sunset after a Super Bowl, just like John Elway did.

And Cam Newton should use this as fuel for the future.

Oh, and just as an aside, this is from Peter King's column on why he voted Tony Dungy into the Hall of Fame:

Why Dungy? In fairness, I have worked with Tony Dungy for several years at NBC, so I see why you’d find me partial to him. I can’t do anything about that, other than to say I do my best to keep my personal feelings for any candidates out of my deliberations. So … many don’t understand why Dungy—22nd on the all-time wins list, with a 9-10 playoff record and one Super Bowl victory—is making the Hall. A few numbers help the argument: He’s the only coach ever to take teams to the playoffs 10 straight years; his 10.7 wins per year is best in NFL history. He and Bill Belichick are the only coaches ever to have a run of six straight seasons of 12 wins or better. His post-season record? Meh. But in my opinion, Dungy has to be credited with doing the most for African-American coaches of anyone who’s ever roamed an NFL sideline. I see it often in my observations at NBC, as he advises risers or fallers in the business by cell phone on Sundays. And you can’t underestimate the impact of Dungy being the first African-American coach to win a Super Bowl. It’s a layered case that Dungy makes, and I think he’s deserving.

It's sad that Cam is getting rousted by the media and analysts now. Leave him alone. He's not like Russell Wilson, Cam's a character and humbling him is not what Cam is about.

Let him be and know that this Panther's team will be back to the SB.

Now for Peyton, personally of course he wants to still play, it's hard to say goodbye because he loves playing, however it is time. I think his body was telling him to pack it up with the finesse of his throws.

So end up on top and leave on a high note for Mr. Manning

Cam was fun to watch this year, pure and simple. He whipped my team and I had no problem watching him do it, but he got humbled big time. I had a feeling it was going to be a bad performance because of all the media stuff during the week. It took all the fun of being there for Cam, and he isn't mature enough to win when he's not happy.

I'm sorry but if little baby Cam ran off because of THAT then he's an even bigger ****** than I thought. Oh man, the other team said they were going to make me throw because they didn't think I could... WAAAAAAA WAAAAAAAA. You know what Cam? HE WAS RIGHT.

It is always easier to walk in someone else's shoes.

You can't let him be because for him its all about HIM. If he is going to dish it out then he sure as hell better be able to take it and right now he can't. This is a MAJOR watershed moment for Cam. He can either grow from this and learn humility and class and pick himself up and worry less about selfies on the field and more about becoming a true all season leader or he falls into Ryan Leaf territory. I hope he learns from this because it would be fun to see him and Wilson and (hopefully) Jameis Winston battle each other for the next 10 years.

Yeah, he sure is all about "HIM" giving away footballs to kids and his charity work..... dancing after a TD is bad? Since you are telling Cam to mature..... I hope you sent that memo to Seattle too.....

I don't think I can fit into those gold MVP shoes. I'm not saying he's not a great talent he's just still an immature kid who needs to learn how to lose with class.

He went around congratulating Broncos on the field. Shook hands with Peyton. When Peyton lost to the Saints he went off the field crying not shaking hands. Fled to the locker room. Cam showed more maturity than Peyton. Lynch doesn't do interviews either..... is that okay? What about Winston? I don't know how you can criticize Cam and dislike him..... when Winston is similar. :dunno
