Either someone in his camp (agent) is giving him bad advice, or he is being stubborn and the people in his camp are yes men and won't stand up to him. He wants his signing bonus to be paid all this year instead of pro-rated over his rookie contract. Unfortunately for him, both players picked before him and after him (Carson Wentz and Ezekiel Elliot) have agreed to the offset language in their contracts. Basically, he doesn't have a leg to stand on, and as the saying goes, he's cutting off his nose to spite his face.

The only reason that he needs it all now is if he would get cut. So unless they thinks he is gong to be a bust why does it matter if he get a % the next year. I think it's his family. His dad was a bust and his uncle was a bigger bust. The best part is they keep saying no 3rd pick has had offset language, but yeah this year what happened?

Depends if he passed that test. From what I understand that they recreational drug test is once a year and after that they can get away with until next year.

I heard how this works a week or two ago. If they are not in the program then they are tested once a year an know when it will be. So they are just stupid to get get caught. If your in the program then it's random. So don't flunk the test you know when it's coming or get arrested on a DUI/possession you have the rest of the year to do what you want. It may not be the smartest place to go but those shops are also semi tourist spots. So he could have been just their out of curiosity. Like many people who visit red light districts just to see the scene.

It wouldn't surprise me if it happens at the end of this season. He is just so banged up now, that it's not worth jeopardizing his health down the road.
