I use to love the Patriots when they were losers in the 70s and 80s. They had one of the baddest ass helmets and uniforms back then. But then they changed over to those dumb ass USFL uniforms/helmets in the 90s.

I was one of the few in the midwest who were rooting for them in the 85' Bowl against the Bears. Man, what a miracle playoff run the Pats had in 85.:rock

But then they became great this decade so I dropped them.:lol

I remember Super Bowl XX. The Pats didn't even have a chance. Everybody here in New England knew it. We were just happy that they were in the Super Bowl.

Once Parcells came in and didn't draft Rick Mirer (we picked Bledsoe with the #1 instead), I knew we were on the right path. Pete Carroll came in and nearly screwed up everything. Luckily we have everybody's most hated coach in Belichick. He may be smug, but man can that guy coach (except for last week against the Colts...everybody in NE is pissed he went for it on 4th and 2 on our 28).

Just saw this on the Onion and got a kick out of it. Can't stand Bellichick, but I would have absolutely no complaints if he was my team's coach, either.

I haven't felt so down after a regular season Pats game in awhile. I felt uncomfortable when he did it against the Falcons earlier in the year. But against the Colts of all teams...it was the first boneheaded decision I can remember Belichick making. I'd still take him over 98% of the coaches in the league and it's nice where everybody on the team (including Brady) backed Bellichick's decision to go for it (even when you knew that he should've punted).

After everything is said and done...and trust me, I am no Belichick fan...the man has made so few mistakes like this that every Pats fan should be laughing it off. No Pats fans have any justification in letting one bad call in a fairly rare loss for the Pats bother them in the least. With as much success as he has had...it is completely OK for him to pull a bonehead stunt like this.

Now, if he starts doing this frequently...then there may be some justification. But an incident as isolated as this should not even raise an eyebrow.

Not me. I'd rather have Sean Peyton over "Mr. Smug" Bellecheck any day of the week!

No way. I like the way Sean Peyton is handling your Saints, but I'd still prefer Belichick. Drew Brees is having an insane season and he's a highly underrated QB in the league. Besides the obvious Brady/P.Manning debate as far as who the best QB in the league is, after that it should be Brees. I'd take him over Rothlisberger (who many people up here rank 3rd), Rivers (many people rank him 4th up here), E.Manning, Romo, McNabb, etc. any day of the week.

I like Payton quite a bit and it's great that he and Brees work so well together, but Belichick is easily the best coach in the league right now. Of potential coaches, I would prefer Bill Parcells, but that's about it. Yeah, he's a smug a-hole, but at the end of the day, that guy knows how to win. If that means videotaping other teams' practices, so be it :D

Go Vikings.

Gotta root against the Saints (even though i like em) so we can be tied for best record in NFC.

Guess that Detroit/Cleveland game wasnt so bad. Fox should have shown that instead of the crappy Dallas Washington game.

No kidding, that turned out to be a great game. I was stuck watching the Seahawks get their asses kicked.
