That was a bonehead move Carr..no wonder Raiders tanked this season

Jeez he still had 30 sec left

But again Refs screwing around using a folded paper to measure a first down instead of an flat card

Frustrated Raiders fan here.. While I agree there was time.. Nothing is guaranteed.. So I see why he stretched out..

Good to see Carr running again.. He has not done that at all this year...

Frustrating game..

Index Cardgate, fake punts, two TD's negated by penalties, missed field goal, and a game winning td killed by a fumble through the end zone..

Only reason I am typing this is because I cant sleep :(

And neither can Carr I heard this whole season :slap

Both plays were moronic. It says more about Seattle and the Steelers than it does about the Pats. Seahawks should have run the ball in the SB and Big Ben just had to make sure he doesn't turn the ball over. At worst the Steelers tie the game and go into overtime at home with a chance to win. Seattle's O coordinator was a moron for calling a pass play from the 2 yard line with Beast Mode in the backfield. Both the fake spike and the pass from the 2 yard line in the SB were cluster f'd calls that were poorly executed. If the Pats make a goal line stand after 4 plays or the time runs out, you tip your hat to the D. You turn the ball over in either situation, that's inexcusable.

You don't tip your cap to the D for correctly diagnosing the play in 49? Browner doesn't allow Kearse to set the pick, which allowed Butler to move forward jumping the route. The idea that Lynch was some kind of fait accompli from the 1 is a fallacy too. In 2014 he was 1/5 in such attempts.

As for the Steelers I just question why they would throw a slant there and not a fade. Eli Rogers being the only guy that moved was odd too.

Throwing slants inside of five yards is just a bad idea, period. Way too congested. There is too much evidence already that it's a bad idea.

The Super Bowl between the Steelers and Cards (can't remember which Super Bowl it was, damn I'm getting old, LOL): Kurt Warner attempts to hit Anquan Boldin on a slant, and Jerome Harrison jumps it and returns it for a pick six.

The Super Bowl between New England and Seattle that Gren mentioned.

Seattle, this year, attempted a two pint conversion against Washington where they trotted out the same play, with the same result.

And last night's game.

As Grenouille said, throw a fade, or an out.

And Ben outsmarted himself, as well as the rest of his team. He probably thought back to the fake spike that went for a TD that he threw last year against the Cowboys. None of the other Steeler receivers even moved. At that point, Ben should have just tossed it out of bounds.

Pats D made the play it had to. However, Seattle's O put them in that position. Why would you throw the ball inside on a condensed field? The only acceptable plays are to the corners of the end zone or fade routes. There's way too much traffic in the middle of the field when your are on the 2 yard line. I'd still run Lynch on every down. Sooner or later, I'm willing to bet he'd crack that goal line.

As for Big Ben, he should have known better. You just can't risk that throw. Not when the worst case scenario lets you tie the game. It was a idiotic play call and a dumb throw.

Life long Vikes fan here. I want to get excited, but i can't. Heartbroken too many times. I'm having a blast with the season, but i'm cautiously optimistic.

I feel for you. I consider myself a "realistic" Dallas fan, but I allowed myself to believe a little last season...the Super Bowl was on my birthday last year and I allowed myself to believe, just a little bit, that Dallas would win the Super Bowl on my birthday, LOL. I'd love to see a "new" team such as the Vikings win it this year.

And sorry to bring up old wounds, but I firmly believe that the 15-1 Minnesota team that lost to the Atlanta Falcons would have soundly beaten the Broncos in the Super Bowl that year.

Oh of course that WAS the year. Didn't even talk the remainder of that day.

Watch James Harrison clear waivers, get signed by NE, and proceed to sacked Ben Rothelisberger four times in the AFC Championship Game. :slap

I’m liking the NFC playoffs..Saints, Philly, Panthers , Vikes and Rams back in it ..this is going to be fun

AFC ..meh..same usual suspects..Pats, Steelers, KC..but glad Jags , Titans and Ravens are back in it

New England will sleepwalk to the Super Bowl. The NFC will be fun, I just hope to hell Carolina doesn't make it.
