I predict the Colts will lose in the playoffs if they have to face either the Chargers or the Patriots. Otherwise they're in the Super Bowl.

The Colts are the ONLY team right now that I hope the Eagles never play if they make it to the BIG game. They have Philly's number. Other than that I think the Eagles can beat anyone out there if they come to play.

OK. So I've heard all year about how the Saints opponents are not very good, and so their wins don't mean very much, blah blah blah. Then last night, I hear from all these professional "analysts" how "all the teams who were good--Vikings and Saints--they peaked. Right now, the best teams in the NFC look like the Cowboys and Eagles."

OK. Let me just briefly break this down. Before playing the Saints, the Cowboys lost two straight to the Giants and Chargers. Before that, two wins to Washington and Oakland, and before that, a loss to Green Bay. This is a team peaking? How, exactly?

And the Eagles, who everyone thinks is so great right now? Who have they beat this year?

Panthers (first game of the season), Chiefs, Bucs, Redskins, Giants, Bears, Redskins, Falcons (when they were on the down-swing), Giants, 49ers. Not exactly a list of Superbowl contenders.

Now I'm not saying that neither of these teams are good or have a chance to win the big game. But I think jumping on their bandwagon right now is basically looking at recent wins (or win) that in the Eagles case was against sub-par competition (though winning 5 straight is impressive no doubt--even against those teams), and in the Cowboys case is a single freakin' win! But, whatever. I always like it best when people count the Saints out, because as I have said ad nauseum (because it's true), they live to surprise. Usually that means disappointment, but if everyone expects them to lose, they might just do the opposite.

Don't worry K, I am sure Romo will find a way to bumble something down the stretch. :banana

Nah, the Pats can't win on the road and the Chargers D is just too beat up.

I hate the Chargers more than just about any other team right now. Even more than the Cowboys, because the Cowboys are kind of pitiful in my opinion.

They beat the Saints. :lol

Yeah, they also beat the Eagles. . .

I don't begrudge the Cowboys for beating the Saints on Saturday. The Saints sucked ass that night, as anyone who saw the game can attest. I mean they seem pitiful because they are such massive underachievers with their slow-minded coach and QB who always fails when it matters most. I still hate them, just less than the Chargers at this point in time.

Wow so its bad that the Governor came out to game to support the city and firefighters after SD had been devastated by wildfires, at a stadium that was just shortly before that was being used a place for people who had been evacuated or had there house burned down.

Guess no one should have cared when the Saints played there first game at home after Katrina either. Of all places in the US to make a comment like that you are in the worst state to do so. Sorry of anyone in the US I would think someone from LA would have respect for what that game was but I guess no, I will surely remember that next time you get hit with a Hurricane.

Good lord, gimme a break. I'm not saying anything about the wildfires, but at how ridiculous your Governator is. They play that damn clip every week on "the Blitz," because it's funny, and I haven't seen your righteous indignity over that. You joke about Ray Nagin talking about "Chocolate City" after the hurricanes and I'm not gonna get on my high horse about how inappropriate it is.

But beyond all that, equating the wildfires with the hurricanes Katrina and Rita isn't exactly a fair comparison.

NFL Power rankings have this as the top 5 (apparently made before yesterday, which makes little sense to me):

--edit: As I think about this, I guess these aren't the same "Power Rankings" I've seen before. Maybe there are more or less official versions of this rating system? This one is from this site: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/311868-week-16-nfl-power-rankingsindianapolis-takes-no1 --

No.1 Indianapolis Colts 14-0

The Colts worked the Jaguars of Jacksonville, kicking the sleek cats with those powerful young hooves, and stomping them into the turf.

No. 2 New Orleans Saints 13-1

New Orleans lost a game to Dallas, who the game meant much more to, and dropped a spot to No 2. They will finish the season at 15-1 and stay at this position into the playoffs.

No. 3 Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings rebounded from their Arizona defeat by chopping up the Bengals, piece by piece. Minnesota should also win out to finish at 14-2 and keep the No. 3 ranking into the playoffs. They are a dangerous team to face on the road.

No. 4 San Diego Chargers

The San Diego Chargers may be finally at the dream season they have been waiting for. Beat Cincinnati at home and wrap this division up in Tennessee next week. Simple formula, huh?

No.5 Arizona Cardinals

Arizona is hot more than they are cold, are in control of that division, and headed for the playoffs. Many teams can't say that, in Week 16. 11-5 or 10-6 will be the final record and the NFC West title will be theirs again.

True...but the Chargers are still finding ways to win. 9 wins in a row now.

:lol Rivers just rubs me the wrong way and is the most annoying NFL personality in my opinion. Plus, I always liked Schottenheimer and was a bit annoyed at how he was treated by Chargers management (though I can't argue with the results of getting rid of him). Then add Ladanian Tomlinson's constant whining over the years, and Shawne Merriman who got so much love and credit despite using 'roids and has that stupid, annoying pose. Only my personal view, but on the whole, I just dislike them.

And they never hardly play my team, so I guess I should be hating one of our division rivals, but no. I hate that team most of all :D

We all hate some team for some reason. They just happen to be my choice. Followed by the Cowboys.

First you should love Rivers, if not for him you would not have Brees and could easily have the same numbers in your record but only in reverse order.

Schottenheimer did great in the regular season but failed every year in the playoffs and they had to much talent to keep going out in first playoff game.

Be sure to hate two of you players if you have issue with people who fail drug test, since they got to skip out on there failed drug tests because of a loop hole in MN.

I never hated the saint hell I had two friends play for the Saints in the past but man I am starting to hat them due to there fans.

I like this quote about Rivers and it sums up how I think of him...

"If you want veneer, look elsewhere. Rivers isn't dating supermodels like Tom Brady or starlets like Tony Romo. He's not running the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds or killing dogs like Michael Vick. He's not crediting God for his team's victories like Jon Kitna. He's not a boring drone like Carson Palmer. He's not Matt Hasselbeck who seems like Damon Huard who seems like Matt Schaub.
Philip Rivers isn't like any of them. You know who he's like? He's kind of like us." - Gregg Doyel CBSSports.com

Tomlinson doesn't whine, Jayne Cutler does :lecture
Merriman's "Lights Out!" dance is just fun to watch.

Schottenheimer's personal conflict with Chargers GM A.J. Smith and his failing to take the Chargers further into the playoffs cost him his job.

After this weekend, I would rank them as Indy, NO, SD, Min, Phi, But I would have it as a tie between the Eagles and Vikings cause both teams have pretty bad defenses against good teams and bad teams :lol. I could defn see SD running the table cause they are rollin right now..........

true I wish the Eagles had a better D, a few interceptions do not a good d make, but still did you see the Vikings game?! the o line was suckin it up out there

yep, early on, I really thought they had a overall great team, but now everything is falling apart for them, but most of it is not on Favre, they have a lot of issues, and worst of all, they cant run the ball anymore, so their screwed if Peterson cant get things going, cause it starts with him on offense.
