Who dat? :D

Felt bad for Warner getting rocked. Really should have pulled a Peyton Manning and just basically hit the dirt after the INT occurred. Impressed with Bush! No fumbles! :lol

And of course, Brees shows why he's the true MVP of the league.

Saints paid some refs off I think. There has been 4 obvious calls that have been missed.

Plus I think I figured out how its so loud there they are manufacturing the noise. Sounds like they are pumping the noise over the loud speakers.
 Gimme a freakin' break.

Sorry Brees is great but srry Payton honestly should be the MVP just about every year he is by far the best QB in the league its not even a contest.

And if you watched the beinging of the game the Saints didnt get crap called on them. I saw at least 1-2 false starts not called, 2 holds on the LT alone and a facemask. At that point they had on call a PF on the fumble recovery, (which they should have had more since they had players coming of the bench into the situation and at least one took a swing). Sorry that game started out being a very one sided refed game. Get over it. And whats odd is after the first few series they noise level seemed to drastically changed.

I agree, both games very one sided. Hopefully that means getting rid if the unworthy teams. Don't want superbowl to be a dud.
Maybe, but with the NFL it is so game-to-game that if you had "best of 3" series, we might not see all the same teams moving to the next round.

I think that could happen regardless, I think Indy and SD are significantly better then the NFC teams left.

That's right! The true N.F.L. M.V.P. that got overlooked once again! He broke records left and right. Drew Brees DESERVED it!

Peyton Manning didn't need to win the M.V.P. for the 4th time!

GO SAINTS! :D

Best in the league, no contest? Which QB looked better tonight? For the total season, Brees had much better stats, his team just didn't win as much or come back in the last few minutes as often.

I honestly think it is a toss-up between Brees and Peyton, but I also think the voters were swayed too much by the last few games of the season (the last few leading up to the vote), as people who watch football often are.

As for the supposed calls and other stuff you are talking about, as I think about it, you are probably right. They would have lost the game tonight if not for paying off the refs and piping static into the other teams' helmets, etc. The Cards got screwed so bad. You are right.

What records did he break? Team records or NFL records?

Which team played the better Defense? The team that gave up 90 points in 2 games must be good especially when they were the #20 ranked defense.:lol

And what stats were much better?

Comp
Brees 363/514 70.6%
Manning 393/571 68.8%

Yds
Brees 4388
Manning 4500

TD
Brees 34
Manning 33

INT
Brees 11
Manning 16

So only stat where Brees was much better was INT.

I really think the Chris Johnson should have won the MVP he had the best year, he broke the record for most yards from scrimmage and was the 6th RB ever to run for over 2000 yds. But he isnt a QB so he wasnt going to win unless he broken Dickerson's record and went to the playoffs then he had a chance.

Passer rating:

Brees: 109.6

Manning: 99.9

So yeah. TD/INT ratio is a pretty significant stat, IMO. And as for Manning having more yards? He threw 571 times. Brees threw 514. So if you figure yards per pass, Brees is better, and presumably, Brees could have had more yards if he threw more (as he did the previous year when he almost broke Marino's record, but his team stunk so he didn't have a shot at MVP).

As for tonight, you play as well as you can against the competition you have, and Peyton didn't look that sharp. He looked good because he is damn good, but he didn't look MVP good to me. Speaking of defense, the Colts defense was better than the Saints through the bulk of the regular season.
As such, the Saints offense was more important to their team to win, and their offense couldn't win without Brees. With him, they won 13 straight. Thus, an argument could definitely be made that the "MVP" on their team, and of the league (in my opinion), was Brees. Unfortunately, players win the MVP in the last handful of games in the season, and by that measure, Peyton won.

Happens in every game to ALL teams, nothing new.

(then again, it could be rigged :horror)

My Prediction:

DAL 24
MIN 20

As you know, I'm a hardcore Vikings fan and have been waiting for 32 years to get back to the Super Bowl.

There's a common bridge between Vikings fans. It's called the "Bridge of Heartbreak." Just when expectations are high, we can always count on the Vikings to let us down. This is who we are and it's part of our fabric.

Just because Dallas will win today doesn't mean I won't be gutted.

Sincerely,

Losers 'R' Us

Thats right!!!
Unfortunately I have to root for Minnesota since they're the top profiting team of the NFL right now cuz of Favre.

It kinda sucks to think that the fate of ur job is depending on a fawking football team.

Anwayz, I'm still rooting for the Saints tho, to go into the Superbowl.

i didn't watch last nights game because I didn't think it would be competitive. I see I didn't miss much.

I'm going to give this mornings game a chance. If its a crap game I'll probably end up skipping tonights too.

Nothing more boring or unsatisfactory than blowout football. (Unless you're a fan of the team kicking butt.)

Since my Pats aren't in it, gotta root for Tom Brady's BFF, Peyton Manning and the Colts to head to the Super Bowl...and win.

If I may ask, how does your job depend on it? I just hate the Cowboys, always have.
