Thursday night it happens, the power shift will take place.

The Dolphins have been playing piss-poor for nearly... geez, I can't even remember when they last had a good season.

Anyway, this weekend, you shall have your first win me thinks.

I wouldn't count on it. Oakland played the late MNF game and has to travel to the east coast for an early Sunday game. History isn't in their favor. Hopefully Tannehill will be Oakland's best weapon come Sunday.:lol

9 years later and the NFL and Time Warner still can't come to a damn agreement.

Crappy stream it is for Thursday.

As if that is not bad enough...I am in a Hotel that has direct TV, but they only allow about 20 channels into the rooms...and NFL Network is not one of them.

Fortunately, they have greased lightning WiFi, so the game should stream smoothly.

I take it you don't have an option for something else? Have you looked into Direct TV?

Here's my deal. I had Dish Network for years until they had too many contract disputes.

First it was FX and then they dropped AMC (Walking Dead). Later this month they'll drop the Big 10 Network (Goofs football).

Also Dish has had a 10 year contract dispute with MLB so I didn't have access to the MLB package.

Finally, I just said fk that! So I switched over to Direct TV. To be honest, I still prefer Dish over Direct because of better channel lineup, better slow motion and easier remote control setup. But what good is it if I can't get the channels I like. :dunno

I could move over to DirecTV or Dish, but I'm happy with TWC for the most part. The only major gripe is the NFL Net. Thankfully I know that it'll never be an issue missing a Pats game because that would have to be shown in the region.

I remember hearing the NFL was going to be putting the Thursday night package up for bids possibly after this season. I wonder how much they could get for it considering the absurd amounts they got for Sunday and Monday nights.

there's your answer :lecture

Yup, I'm glad I made the switch 18 months ago. No more putting up with the Dish bull bleep.

I took some advice from BadMoon and called the retention dept for Direct tv and asked for some free stuff. Received $13 bucks off my bill and free Starz for 3 months. I think I could have asked for more but I was only 12 months into a 2-year deal. I just didn't have much leverage. :monkey3

I promise you, you don't need leverage. Call them and tell them that someone you know got the NFL Sunday ticket for being a new sign up and you think you deserve it for being a loyal customer. If they say no tell them to transfer you to retention and you'll get anything you ask for. I've got $125 worth of programming that I've been paying $73 for for almost 4 years now. They will never call your bluff because they'd get fired for not trying to retain you. It's their jobs.

Yeah I use to do that, hell I almost got them to match the deal I was getting from Fios when I moved, The TV portion of the bill for the same as the highest Directv package was around $45 and they were trying all kinds of crazy stuff to make it work out the same. I didnt want Directv at that point though, i didnt want to have to add wiring all over the house when Fios worked with the existing wiring.
