I don't really like the bottom half of it

Neither do I.

I think just a standing straight pose, pointing with his guns, would have been more than enough. This way he kind of looks....cheesy.

No interest at all in this piece.

I think he looks great and will be a good companion piece to Viper/Madame Hydra...it will be difficult to pass on this and I agree that the EX is great. I only have one question, "What is the scale?"

I know some of you guys don't care about scale, but I like my statues to be uniform and a 1/5th Fury would look diminished next to my 1/4th Avengers.

1/5th = Pass
1/4th = Preorder

Nothings official but just eye balling the picture with the trusty SSC red apple...I would guess 1/4th. Thursday we'll all know for sure.

I think it is quite clear it is a 1/5 comiquette :dunno

...unless they used a very big apple this time. (j/k)

I've really given up assuming one way or another...I don't understand what the deal is with the jumping between scales. Is there some reason they do that when tons of people obviously care about having the matching scales for all of their statues? I mean I personally don't care but there are lots that do and it would seem smart to just create within the same scale or at least have a clear pattern.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking also when comparing the Nick Fury apple to the PF apples. :(

There are lots of different theories on why they started doing different scales:
  1. They want to 'double-dip' characters and making the same character in multiple scales will, theoretically, get people to buy both
  2. They are slowly converting comiquettes to 1/5th and PFs to 1/4th...this has been very inconsistent though (Hughes/Brooks= 1/5th, Olivetti = 1/4th and 1/5th, Wolverine/Ironman 1/5.5)
  3. Sideshow devs are either idiots and don't know what they are doing or they simply don't care what the majority of fans think (ex: X-Men 1/4th PFs and 1/5th comiquettes released at the same time)

Sure, some people don't care, but the majority of fans want their collection to be displayed in a consistent scale whether this be Bowen, Sideshow, or GG...

All good points. Yea I can understand and the reality is beyond the presentation purposes it is a good way to limit your spending, which as we all know can get out of control in this hobby.

But there IS a clear pattern. Comiquettes (well, most of them, and especially the most recent ones) are ALL 1/5 :).

Believe me, I really understand the taste/need to display pieces next next to each other, and I might agree on the fact that they look better when all of them are produced in the same scale BUT I think it is also time for the "1/4 or fail" mentality to assume that Comiquettes and PFs are two different types of products, and therefore, not necesarily meant to be displayed together. That's why we get characters in both formats.

This could lead to the classic "but my most wanted character will take forever to be released in this or that format". And to that, one could only argue that Sideshow is a private business, and suposedly knows what is better for them, so that if you want a certain type of piece in a certain type of format....NOW, well, that is what private comissions are for. Nothing else.

:peace

Is it the photo or angle, his legs are very short. His body looks longer than his legs......

Neither do I.

I agree Joseph, they could have also had him holding 2 guns straight armed in front of him, standing Tall and a Pissed Off look.

I think the pic below is the best angle to show the length of his leading leg. It appears pretty much in scale from this mostly sideways angle. The rear leg is still foreshortened, therefore still seems a bit stubby. Too bad he really looks dead behind the eyes. He must be a little sleepy.

That would have rocked. Wide stance double fisting (yeah, I said it) outstretched pistols and/or machine guns with a huge frown on his face and cigar blazing with a light-up feature! :rock
Yeah, well. This is what we got and I'm getting it. :)

Problem solved. See you on Thur !!!!

You know what's weird, Punisher comiquette has short legs too. But he works a lot better because of the art style. I wish he looked a little older too.
