I've got enough retailers around here that I think I can find one on drop day, if I call around to find who has what, but still. This is crazy though.

Apparently Frys only had 500 units total for preorder. This whole fiasco is nuts. I'm tempted to not open mine.

Best Buy canceled my preorder for the Majora's Mask New 3ds XL...said they the quantities they received weren't enough to fill their orders. (yes I only ordered one).

On a bright note they did give me a coupon for $50 off of a New 3ds xl, plain version.

Gamestop opened up preorders again today as IN-STORE preorders only. They only did it at certain stores apparently, but nonetheless, I got one.

Congrats! I heard of people having mixed luck at GS. The weather here is nasty so I'm not going to risk it running out there. Honestly, I'm over it and actually happier with the $50 offer from Best Buy. I'll be getting the plain version and the MM limited edition game bundle for less than the MM 3DS by itself. Works out better for me. Also I'm a little OCD with Zelda stuff and be tempted to keep it sealed.

Was hoping it to have an internal case though specifically for the 3DS. Worried about the games scratching the system. No?

I've got a case for my current 3DS that I love, but looking to upgrade for the new system. Any thoughts or experiences with cases?

I wish I could find you the link for the one I currently have - it must be some generic one because there's no labels other than the Nintendo logo, but I love it. Can't find another anywhere though.

Do you have a cover for your 3DS unit itself or screen covers? I've got one on the touch pad, but not for the big screen or the unit itself. I've seen the plastic covers, but it looks like they'd cause there owner source of problems. Debris getting stuck between the cover and unit causing abrasions, etc. (Just like a cell phone case. You need to take it off and clean it once in a while.)
