You'll be fine, IMO. There's no hunt to be had for Amibos anymore.

The Amazon exclusives will probably come to TRU sometime, like Palutena did, right? I dunno, I just feel tired of hunting for these things since they probably won't be hard to get. :lol

I remember waiting eight hours outside my local GameStop just to preorder the Retro 3-pack (Duck Hunt, Mr. G&W, & ROB), and they had way more than enough. :lol

And now gamestop has that retro pack on sale for about $10 :lol

I remember Ryu was an Amazon exclusive too...now that fool is everywhere.

Eh, not true honestly. They exclusives have been selling out quick. The Twilight Princess amiibo that was gamestop exclusive sold out in online in under an hour.

I disagree.

Many, if not all, "hard to find" Amibos have been re-released in some capacity and now sit on a shelf. I'm not knocking them. They look really cool, but I'm not the only one who thinks the hunt is over. And it's a reasonable conclusion when you can wait 6 months (give or take) and find them on restock. Marth, Rosalina, Villager....all WERE hard to find. Not anymore. The Zelda amibos will be the same way, regardless of how quickly they 'sold out' online....because they won't be 'sold out' for long. I don't doubt that they're popular. But I do think, because Nintendo have proven this, that they'll make more supply to meet demand...unlike the Classic NES (for some weird reason.)

I'm not saying wait forever to get one, but if you miss out now, you'll have other chances.

People tend to want their items now and not you know...6 months to a year from when they release. So yeah, amiibo hunting is still very much a thing and if you don't jump on pre-orders when they go up, they tend to sell out within the 1st few hours with no restock announced. Also not every amiibo has gotten restock. They did Marth, Villager, and Wii Fit trainer because they did such a low initial print of them, same with Robin and Lucina. However some like Shiek and smash toon link have only ever gotten 1 printing and are going for over $60, and that was before BotW even launched. Also, that's through 3rd party sellers, not official retailers at their normal cheap price. So while it's nowhere near as bad as it was with wave 4, it's still pretty bad if it's a really popular franchise/characters. And the newest wave that's coming out is def going to be like that as we've already seen the online retailers sell out of preorders within a couple hours. So trying to get them at launch is still the best bet to get them at their cheapest since there's no guarantee Nintendo will do reprints.

The hardest would be a moc collector since they wouldn't import amiibos and want the packaging to be from the same region.

Honestly I don't get amiibo collecting. The figures are nice for what you pay, but some have durability/design issues and none of the paint apps are particularly good. Part of the enjoyment of collectibles for me is getting something that I feel is a beautiful piece of art. I'd need to get them all repainted, for example.

Eh, it's mostly nostalgia for me. Ever since I first played Smash Bruddahs Melee and saw the opening cinematic with the Mario figurine coming to life, I always wanted a collection of those figures. :lol When they announced Amiibos, I was pretty excited that I could have that and nostalgia kicked in.

I'm trying to collect every amiibo (excluding the Skylanders tie-in garbage), but it's no problem if they sell out everywhere because I trust they'll be restocked.

Same here. It's a huge nostalgia trip every time I look at my collection as it contains a majority of the characters I loved from my childhood.

I'm doing exactly the same. I can't bring myself to collect the Skylanders Amiibo or the trading cards for Animal Crossing or Mario Sports. So far I've got every Amiibo in my collection or on order except for the Wind Waker 2-pack, Box Boy, and the Monster Hunter Amiibos.

If anyone has an extra Wind Waker 2-pack, I've got a bunch of duplicates that I could offer in trade.

That makes total sense actually. I've always been more of a designer toy guy so there's not a big nostalgia element in collecting for me, but I understand now. Good luck collecting them all!

It was a comic book from Joe Madureira. I really enjoyed the comic and Joe's art. Shame it was never finished though. Same thing happened with soul Saga. I hope the game is good though it's looked a little dry from what I've seen.

He also did the art for Darksiders.

Dunno bout dry but it's a jrpg style so if u don't like turn based battle likes that u prob wont like it :p

...Did they release a Box Boy amiibo?

EDIT: AAAAAAAAAAAAAA THEY DID :monkey2

I really hate the idea of Japan-only amiibos. Hhhhh.

Clown, you down for Mario Kart this weekend?!?!

YES! I don't work on it's release day, either. :yess: I visited my local Target and they have some decorations for it.

I'm prolly' gonna pick up Puyo Puyo Tetris tomorrow since I had some Best Buy coupons + Gamer's Club laying around, which brought it down to $18.

The Target near me has the front doors rigged to play the "1..., 2..., 3..., Go!" sound when someone walks in. Pretty cool.

I'll be getting Puyo-Tetris also but only interested in the latter.
