No Gimili PF in 2009 or 2010

Very disappointing news.

Q: Are there any plans for a Gimli Premium Format or Legendary Scale Bust in the near future?

A: Gimli does not currently have a place in our 2009 or 2010 plans, but we hear that dwarves never give up.

I was hoping to complete the fellowship but its looking unlikely at this stage. That said I could possibly live without the other hobbits but Gimli is a must have. Very disappointing news.

Question is...will Sideshow put aside LOTR and switch gears to The Hobbit in 2011? If so, we may never see Gimli.

SS doesn't have a Hobbit licence and more than likely they won't get one until Weta has firmly established their lines. I don't see SS slowing down at all concerning LOTR. If anything, I see them switching to high gear if Middle-Earth mania takes hold once again.

there are still some die-hards. But, for the most part, LOTR already had it's hey-day....

Thanks GG, that was exactly my point. If The Hobbit and the LOTR prequel are box office hits LOTR will once again be on the map. I'm not saying things will be like they were during the crazy days around the time of ROTK, but there will definitely be alot more interest than there is now.

Hmmm. I had been holding off getting the Aragorn PF until I found him at a good price. Once they announced Leggy, I thought the 2 would look great...IF they released a Gimli next (or at least soon)...but with no Gimmer on the horizon, I really have no use (or space) for Leggy or Aragorn until they do announce Gimli, as cool as they are.

For now, I'll just have to enjoy my 1/6 figures currently being custom painted by small_studios Josh!

Thanks GG, that was exactly my point. If The Hobbit and the LOTR prequel are box office hits LOTR will once again be on the map. I'm not saying things will be like they were during the crazy days around the time of ROTK, but there will definitely be alot more interest than there is now.

TBH I prefer the bad guys but it is a shame that Gimli does keep getting overlooked, could there be probs with SS and JRD with likeness issues?

it's abit of a shocker because sideshow know if this is done right it will sell out in no time, you guys know the saying the best things come to those who wait....

i'm still waiting for another T-800 endo which is better than their not so good last one from sideshow but i don't think they will ever do another one anytime soon...

Same here ...but I really don't see what the big deal is concerning Gimli. With only two PF's produced /year on average we are all going to have to wait for some of the PF's we really want. Besides, with SS already stating they have several PF's planned for next year [Legolas for sure, a good possibly the 2nd will be a Ringwraith, and one other PF...I'm thinking Boromir] there will certainly be enough to keep our attention until SS finally does announce a Gimli PF.

What's so shocking? There are many characters that would sell better than Gimli, or many of the PF's already produced for that matter, that still haven't received the PF treatment.

Gotta disagree with you there...I love my T-800 endo. Is it as good as the CM version....no, but it's a pretty nice statue all the same.

Everyone keeps talking about "complete the fellowship" are you guys seriously going to buy 4 hobbits though? Many people dont even like Frodo. I've seen people here sell him shipped for 125, he gets no love and yet people think its realistic to get Sam, Pippin and Merry?

Gimli is a MUST and should be the next Fellowship PF. But 4 hobbits is overkill, most people would buy 9 Ringwraiths before 4 hobbits.

I'd be prepared to live without the other 3 hobbits but Gimli and Boromir along with Gandalf the Grey are must haves.
