This little bit of info made this the best newsletter I've read in like forever, no more PF's going out for delivery inTennessee instead of Florida, no more supposedly delivered packages that are nowhere to be found and being told nothing will be done about it for a few days. HURRAH! And saving that few bucks is nice too!

I think the ups is only for orders under $100.00. I think you still have to request it if you want orders over $100.00 shipped with ups.

You're right (but then you already knew that). Actually you have the choice between FedEx and UPS for over 100 dollars. Technically you have the choice of going FedEx even under 100 dollars.

As you can see I went and edited my original post because I went back and reread what it said and it is kind of vague on the over $100.00 shipping. It says you have a choice, but it doesn't say which one is the default or if you have to request a specific one, or if you can choose when you order, so i am officially confused.:lol

I've read horrorstories on Dutch forums of €280,- custom charges on the Predator Exclusive

280.00 EUR
Euro = 357.003 USD
United States Dollars
1 EUR = 1.27501 USD 1 USD = 0.784307 EUR

Needless to say the guys weren't amused

NOOOOOOOOOO!

I've had nothing but hellish pain and heartache with UPS, and I have my FedEx ground driver trained now. Off to contact customer service I guess...

FedEx, UPS, they both pull down the stack of packages to a conveyour belt. I don't know. I've had horror stories from both companies. SS...USPS is the way to go :D , old style.

with cheaper rates for shipments under $100 in value... i guess that also means for everything else. since shipments are charged according to weight not value.

and if it's true that UPS are giving them better rates for shipments in general, i wouldn't mind at all having international shipments sent via UPS if it means saving some money. we international members here know how costly is it with couriers.

No!! I leave town for a week and look what happens! I have been one of FedEx's strongest supporters around here!! This is terrible news!

Just kidding.

I have had much better luck with UPS than with FedEx and I am perfectly happy with this change. Of course, part of me will miss the suspense of seeing whether or not FedEx manages to redirect my package to another city or state, but I guess I will have to live with that...

Won't be long til a UPS SUCKS!!! thread to pop up. Maybe it's time to go back to Pony Express. :chew :emperor

I've had bad luck with both companies. Recently Fed Ex lost my Anakin figure but UPS has delivered a couple packages to my home that didn't belong to me, I had to redeliver them my self a street over. I don't want to imagine what would happen with a dishonest person receiving my packages from UPS.
I've also had several smashed boxes from UPS, only once with Fed Ex.
The only parcel carrier with the best track record with me is USPS.

The only problems I've had with either company was that a package or two was delayed by a day. All of my stuff has come pretty unharmed. I prefer Fed ex (don't know why), but I'm willing to give UPS a shot because the shipping will be cheaper from what I'm hearing. If they suck, I'll go back to Fed ex.

The problem I usually have with FedEx is that things get sent to the wrong place or sometimes just disappear for a couple days. Which is of course stressful when you're dealing with merchandise this expensive. My reason for loathing FedEx is the pisspoor customer service I get when something goes to the wrong state or is posted as delivered but nowhere to be seen, I just don't like being told that nothing can be done for three days.

i hear a number of stories about packages going to wrong places or delivered wrongly.

and i'm just wondering why and how is it happening if the address text is clearly eligible? are addresses in the US that complicated?

I don't know what happens when a package is dropped off a few doors down or on the next street over. Maybe carelessness by the driver. I know in my PF Han incident what I was told happened is that somebody put Han in the pile that goes to Tennessee instead of the pile that goes to Florida. And then you have cases like Tom's Luke who took a grand tour of all the cities around Tom's and you just scratch your head and wonder.

I think it is a combination of them not knowing where they are going or just not caring. I have had ups come to my door asking if my house was a certain address, which it wasn't, yet they deliver to me all the time.

For me too, I have NEVER had a problem with them.

I also agree that USPS is pretty good at delivering their stuff. I think it's because whoever delivers your mail probably knows all the people that live in your house/apartment/condo/shack by name and is familiar with the street and numbers on the street(since they do it 6 days of the week). I know my mailman by name now and he's delivered our mail for the past 3 years. All packages are delivered by him too in my case when I do get a parcel by USPS.

It always boils down to whether or not someone has had problems with a particular carrier. I have had issues with FedEx, but never (so far) with UPS (or USPS, for that matter), so I'm happy about the shift to UPS. Should UPS start to screw my deliveries over and leave them when they shouldn't and not leave them when they should, then I'll be posting in that "UPS Sucks" thread. :lol :monkey3
