It all really depends on the arrangement. Remember, there's a birth limitation in China. While I agree that from our standards it appears shallow, I'm certain if we were there in that society and limited to a single kid, our perspective might be a smidge different.

If he didn't want the kid, he could just do like a lot of them do and dump it in an orphange. That's what so many of them do when they have daughters, even though the mothers object. This baby is a girl and I have a feeling if it was a boy, he would feel differently. It's just sad that appearance is so important to people that they could give up their wife and daughter like that, and demand money to boot.

Why do people hate Ewoks so much. I'm sure there's a story somewhere in George's mind that Ewoks are probably the love child of Wookies somehow. Knowing how much he loves to tie things together, I'm sure that's not too far off.

I just couldn't see a Galactic Empire that had spread tyranny throughout the galaxy being brought down by teddy bears.

One can only imagine how epic it would've been to see Kashyyyk and Wookies (done without CG) tossing around and dismembering storm troopers.
