Then who in your opinion is the Kit Fisto of LOTR? I have someone in mind, let's see if you agree.
Off the top of my head I'd say one of the warriors that is sent flying through the air as Sauron swings his mace during the prologue of FOTR. :D

Actual conversation between my wife and I this morning about selling our Kit Fisto figure:

Me: "Hey we need to see how much it costs to ship Kit Fisto UPS. Maybe we just call them and say, 'How much to ship a Kit Fisto? He's a Jedi.'"

Wife: "Yeah then we could tell them that he's the one who dies like a pansy when fighting an old man."

Me: "Hey at least he lasted longer than the other two Jedi."

Wife: "Only because he was standing behind them."

:lol :lol :lol

I've always wondered about that scene. In the KOTOR games, they have Force Powers of slow, and others that hinder the abilities of your foes. Isn't it quite possible that the Sith Lord knew these powers and was able to use them against weaker Jedi to kill them quickly?

Absolutely. I have no problem geeking out to explain certain sequences, its just that sometimes my better half has a different point of view. :lol

She still loves the movies though, and that's one of the things that's so great about SW. You can poke fun at certain aspects but the saga is still sweet enough on its own to withstand the criticisms.

EDIT: Getting back on topic, a Faramir figure would rock. :)

There was this guy who turned from grey to white during the trilogy... I hope we'd see him next in the PF line. It would explain why it is taking them so long: they would have to decide whether to make him in grey or white clothing. :D

I hope there are gonna be more new PFs before new 12"s are announced. It would make it easier for me to scrap the 12" line - I really can't justify paying $ 45 in shipping and then $50 in "import fees" (not taxes - just fees: the shipping company Sideshow uses here sucks) for a $60 12" figure...

You better hope it is Gandalf the White, because Gandalf the Grey is grey and blue which means he will cost at least $100.00 extra because of that alone.:D

Yeah the cost of tinting and dyeing fabric. Woof, those prices skyrocket!

Goliath, I can't believe how expensiveit is to get a 12-inch figure to your part of the world! :monkey2 If I were in similar circumstances, I would probably drop collecting the 12-inch line too!

The main problem is that Sideshow is not interested in using any different shipping company in Europe than what they are using today.

They ship with Parcelforce which just happens to be THE most expensive company when it comes to "fees for custom clearance" (of course, this does not include the VAT). They charge $ 41, compared to other carriers:

- DPD: ~$4
- any foreign Postal service (USPS, German Post, French Post, Royal Mail UK etc): ~ $7.70
- Fedex ~ $9
- UPS: ~ $12.50
- DHL: ~ $18
- EMS: ~ $27

On top of that, Sideshow uses the fastest (=most expensive) shipment option that Parcelforce has to offer, EURO48 which should reach the recipient within 48 hours.

If I have to wait months for my collectibles I really would not have a problem using a shipping service that is slower and cheaper. Hell, I wouldn't mind if it takes the item 4 weeks to get here.

I have had e-mail contact with Sideshow's EU shipping coordinator regarding these questions, but so far to no avail. My last e-mail in December 2005 remained unanswered :-(

And I was complaining that SS is charging me 45-50 $ for shipping :monkey1

Goliath, you better move your house to Turkey pal. Then you might receive 12" series before US collector receive theirs and with paying less shipment then Switzerland :lol

Have you ever asked SS to use a different cheaper International service to you? They will pretty much ship an item any way you want. You may be able to save some big bucks just by giving them a call.

Yes, as mentioned in my post, I've had en "e-mail conversation" with Cindy @ Sideshow (EU customer service rep / EU shipping coordinator)

Unfortunately, it doesn't look that way.

After that, I pretty much stopped ordering from Sideshow directly. But with the Exclusives, I don't have much of an option. I may still be better off buying those on Ebay, too. :-(
