I'm totally an inexperienced painter, I'm impatient and have drawn my whole life so painting and sculpting are actually new to me. I'm experimenting to expand my horizons. Thanks for any suggestions you customizers might have. I will try to add some more detail to the hair itself to make it seem more lifelike. Thanks Cocoboloboy!

I think it's a good sculpting job, especially for a first attempt, however I don't think it looks like his wig (if that makes sense to you). It's a little too clean, and a little to close to his head around the top. Also the color doesn't look entirely right. You're probably going to have to do some dry-brushing to get the right look, but you'll have to go higher-up than me to get pointers on that.

I second that... If you want to pay 50+ for a TTbody, than its ok.

@wig:

I always use some dental slik to add more detail to the air... I will try to post a pic of some sculpted hair later to show you what I mean. :)

Audreydolls Nurse Wigs have arrived! Beautifully made, color looks damn close if not ON. I'm still waiting for my HT BR Joker head to arrive so it's hard to tell about fit and all...

Notes: A lot of wig here... it needs to be cut and styled a bit but I believe it will work just fine. I have mine on the HT (smallish) BW head now and will try to post a few pics later.

You Guys who ordered with me, yours will mail out tomorrow. :D

I ordered the ebay kit, and also picked up some hot toys muscle legs, just so that I can cover up the god awful joints. I want to get a top half muscle body and cut the nescessary spots on the arms to cover those joints as well
 
As promised, here is the Nurse Wig from audreydolls. It is a Sabrina golden auburn size 4-5. I ordered a slightly larger size because ordering a size too small would be too risky. Audrey mentioned if it was too tight you could snip the elastic band and if it was a bit loose you could pinch the band and clip it.

This came a bit loose on this head so I pinched and clipped the band in back. These are extremely well made and the color is near perfect IMO. I don't know if you can tell the color from these pics but it is an Auburn/Reddish color. This particular color is golden auburn. The carrot red is too orangey so that was nixed. After seeing TDK on DVD, I am very comfortable this is the closest to screen accurate color.

So, It looked a bit large at first. I mounted it on a small BW HT head (the head is smaller than most). My HT BR Head actually is here, I missed delivery on it so I should have a better idea when I fit it on that head.

You can see here it seems way too full, but this is raw from the box. It needs to be cut to shoulder length and styled, maybe using gel or something to hold its shape.

I strapped a rubber band around the BW head here so you can get a better idea how it might look after it is styled and cut. I think with the proper cutting and shaping, it will kick all kinds of ass on the BR mask head.

*whew* I gotta' admit though, when you first posted that wig I wasn't so sure about it, but I think you nailed it. Once you give it a trim and some minor mods I think you'll be cooking with grease my friend.

Can't wait to see it.

Yeah, it needs work, but I'm not MR Wig trimmer hair stylist guy so this will be a first for me. Once it is cut properly, I guess "gelling it like magellan" will be what's needed to hold a shape, but you can see if that is done right it will look ultra cool with the BR mask head.

Don't do anything to what you have. I would suggest simply ADDING strands of twine to give it a "real" hair look. You can either dye those strands the color you're going for or you can even spray paint/hand paint them. Think FML and his Joker, it's half & half. Half sculpted hair, half "real" hair. The problem with ALL "real hair" is what the guys who bought the wigs in here will soon discover: it's a real pain in the ass to shape those wigs. And not to be a pessimist but I'm highly doubtful they'll achieve the look they're going for. It's just going to end up way too bulky and look like an afro wig from the 60's imo. But we'll see.

Like I said though.. just add some colored twine and yours will look sick man!!!


if you want to mod it further I'd suggest:

Dirtying up the face paint.
Dirtying up the hands, adding white/red/black smudges to the fingers/hand randomly.
 
what size, and exact color did you get the wig in?

i want to get the same one, but i was unsure of the size, and i thought that the carrot red was correct...obviously it's not!

Do not get carrot red, it is too orangey. Nurse Joker had an Auburn Reddish wig and this Golden Auburn color is the correct one. I can't really tell you which size is better until I receive my HT Joker head so stay tuned there. I pinched the band on mine.

But you want a Sabrina Golden Auburn, either size 4 or 4-5. And they only take orders over $30 so you may need to go in with 2 other Guys which is what I did. The Wigs are only like $10 each.
 
One reason I am really interested in finding out if this works is because I am working on a 1/6 custom Donnie Darko and since the Hot Toys Gyllenhaal head is shaved, I was thinking of giving him some real hair, but was always unsure about the size and how well it will fit on the Hot Toys head. Right now my Donnie Darko is hairless but done, I just have his hoodie covering his head almost completely to not notice he is hairless. I was checking out some wig shops on eBay but am still trying to see how well it works on this one. I am still worried I will find myself with a wig sized to fit on a 2 foot tall babydoll...I am not good at sculpting so I don't think using sculpty is going to work. Anyway great work so far and I will be back for updates!

I'm going to order one of the wigs. Already bought the nurse outfit and a true type 38 body for the figure. The wigs are only $10 each but they have a $25 min. plus s&h. I'll take care of the initial s&h, but you will have to pay for s&h from me to your address. If you want to go in with me it will cut the cost in half ($12.50 each). Any one want to go in for a third wig? That would bring the cost down to $10 each. From the looks of things I think I'll try a size 4 Sabrina, but the color Golden Amber is dead on. Let me know.
